Reddit mentions of Healthy Origins Chelated Multi Mineral (Featuring Albion Minerals), 120 Veggie Caps

Is there not a consensus with the mods on some of the basics? I have been going over the posts in the side bar and Flip was saying T5 are too dangerous to use they burn extra hot and emit extra UV during the first 10 days, that there have been serious pet injuries reported here from them, that T8 are the only UVB bulbs a person should get.

Also that Repashy got third party tested showing their quality control is sketchy showing nutrient values were off and they were putting ingredients not listed/making substitutions by switching out the listed beta carotene for vitamin A. Repashy would seem like a off limits brand after that. Screwing up nutrient dosages is extremely dangerous for minuscule dosages like vitamin D, I believe there was a case where some people died or were seriously hurt when the dosages of vitamin D were off in one brands D3 supplement. I can't imagine how much more a tiny lizard would be susceptible to even minor dosage discrepancies. I'm finding the whole supplement thing in general hard going over it, because some of these formulations just seem so sketchy. Minerall for example has iron oxide as an ingredient, that is literally rust lol. All the minerals are oxide and sulfate form which have very poor bioavailability, magnesium oxide is used as a laxative... But something is better than nothing and if it's formulated in the correct ratio for a chameleon that's a good thing. I just don't know what to think. I've been thinking of just putting an albion multi mineral at a 1:2 ratio with herptivite since it's already has a decent ratio'd mineral profile and already largely the best form for minerals. And is dirt cheap. I got one of those cool mist Vicks humidifiers too, they are nice. Just a word of caution they aerosolize the water which puts all the dissolved minerals and other junk into the air which a person breaths in(maybe not healthy), and will leave white mineral dust over everything in a room. I learned the hard way was a pain to clean. Gotta use RO or distilled. Also every week at least gonna sanitize with rubbing alcohol or bleach solution everywhere in it. Bacterial films start growing on the surfaces, and unfortunately it gets in the water and aerosolized too which really doesn't happen anywhere close to that magnitude in a normal evaporation humidifier, so that can cause respiratory infections especially with a cool mist humidifier blowing beside or directly into a chameleon cage. Some people may not think of this and get lazy and skip a week sanitizing the humidifier(if they ever do at all). In that case it's safer not even to have it running. Thought that was really important to note at least once on this forum. Here is a link the mineral supplement if anyone wants to look into it further. Healthy Origins also has a version but I think the formulation is vastly inferior aside from it having more magnesium.
