Try something like this. Not bulky, not expensive, wireless, easy.
Don't play your music out loud at the gym. Some people like to run in silence, some people have different tastes in music, it's just generally consider impolite gym behavior. If you're outside running, it might not be as bad, but honestly, it's better for everyone, yourself included, if you just find a pair of simple, lightweight, cheap wireless ear buds to use.
I've had a set of these which were in a similar style and okay in the ear, but the problem was the little apparatus for changing volume and answering calls would always weight the set to the right, so it was never comfortable; even if the bud section was fine in the ears, the band was constantly being pulled toward my right side by the dongle thingy. Is that not true of the JayBirds?

Tone balance - I want an overall good experience, the most important part is FIT. I have tried a few from amazon high end ones, they just won't stay in place :(
Past headphones - I'm using $20 Trust headphones, the sound is actually quite good but the foam is terrible and the overall quality sucks.
Prefered music - Anything really it depends on what I want to listen to.

The cups they came with did not stay in ears for crap but I replaced them with cups from another pair of buds and now they are perfect. Are they better than the Blue Jays? Probably not, but they are 1/5th the price...
