Yup; I'm from the UK and bought one of these for my travel to Australia - I already have European adapters, but this is universal. It will work in the UK, Europe, Australia, Asia etc - It says the US too and I can't see why not, but one reviewer couldn't get it to work in the US - which isn't a problem for you as you live there. It was balanced in the plugs and I have brought it with me from the UK this time to Portugal also.
My 6P charger plugs straight in and charges rapidly, so a converter with your regular charger is all you need.
Finally, a pro-tip about adapters like this - Only buy one and get a compact extension lead for other devices -works out much more useful as you're not tied to various plug points - also this one has type c built in! Mine didn't!
