I have been backpacking about a year now or so and I use the Kelty Dualist 22- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NFCFDMA/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_qNIxwbNEV73HJ
It keeps me warm into the winter and can go into the teens with a wool blanket inside and a pad. I also have used it during regular three season hiking. It is a little heavy but I really like it. I normally take it to around 50ยฐF nights. Anything warmer and I just carry a thermal blanket. It is a little big even when compressed but still my go to for fall, winter and early spring. I own this and a cheaper 40something degree bag from Walmart that I bring to warm trips. This walmart bag compacts very small and is warm enough for summer, and it costs like $40...you might consider it.
