The LED strips are cut-able and they come with pieces to connect strips to each other as well as an extra power cord to plug on to a cut piece of strip. Since they ship the strips with the materials needed to cut and splice them together, I'd suggest getting two strips and cut 5' off each one so you can have three 10' runs of light. This wouldn't be enough light to contribute to growth at all, but it would probably keep the plants awake. The materials I got from the company say that 5 meters draws 72w 12v, so if you got two strips you'd be pulling 144w. If that's too much you can just unplug some of the LEDs and use less until your power situation is resolved.
You can hardwire the LEDs to your battery system because they are both 12v DC. You don't need to invert the power to AC. How far the grow is from the battery bank is extremely important when considering you wiring. I used google to find this table for you to use to determine the gauge of wire you need. http://www.sunforceproducts.com/Support%20Section/Solar%20Panel%20&%20Charge%20Controllers/WireGaugeSelectionTable.pdf

This says it draws 14.4 watts. The pamphlet I got with some strip lights from this company says 72 watts. I haven't measured it myself because I don't have a meter.
Last thought, if you get the strip lights mount them on PVC, bamboo, or sticks of wood and hang them from rope or chain so you can lower them closer to the plants. The strips are backed with adhesive (covered in a plastic strip you have to pull off) so if you use PVC you can just stick it on and go. If you use something like bamboo it might be best to save the adhesive and just use string to tie the strip to the pole.
edit you said the plants are only 2ft tall and you're adding the lights to keep them awake, so you're obviously at the start of the season. Here are 6000k strips which will be a better color temperature for veg than the 3000k strips. The extra blue light will help them stretch less (in theory anyway). I have some of both, (actually I have 2700k and 6000k) and the 3000k is a reddish light, like the sunset.
im not sure what qualifies as specifications, but 150watt 12volt 12.5amp. trying to power 1 or 2, 12volt led strips. like https://www.amazon.ca/Lighting-EVER-Flexible-Waterproof-Daylight/dp/B00JQV6U7Q/ref=sr_1_6?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1462553387&sr=1-6&keywords=5050+led
