Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. A good example would be a PAR38 flood LED from somewhere like Amazon or Home Depot. This one http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cree-120W-Equivalent-Bright-White-3000K-PAR38-Dimmable-LED-45-Degree-Flood-Light-Bulb-SPAR38-1503045TD-12DE26-1-11/207178487 is by Cree, highly regarded in the LED world. That's a pretty hefty price obviously, so going generic isn't a bad idea (2 packs should be like $20... may want to check slickdeals or elsewhere for good LED bulb deals.. doesn't HAVE to be flood, but those are obviously going to be the most high powered). Then you can get a fixture for the right wattage and type, something like this https://www.amazon.com/Lithonia-OFTH-300PR-120-M12/dp/B001FOO67S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479770085&sr=8-2&keywords=par+fixture, or get recessed and build yourself a box with a fan etc. Lots of options for good, off-the-shelf lighting that will do a better job than those CFLs. Might be a bit more up front but you'll get better value.
If you can get a good deal on a big pack of LEDs, even if they aren't flood, that wouldn't be bad. Regular ol' LED bulbs should still be better than those CFLs, especially if you cut the bulb housing off.
I believe this is the post that has the comparison info, but if not, it was linked on reddit like a week ago: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&ved=0ahUKEwiUv5Xa_brQAhVhiVQKHXfaAykQFgg5MAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.icmag.com%2Fic%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D314806%26page%3D8&usg=AFQjCNGsCZFvVN3zEaC2jqU8E32cJ7O7tg&sig2=KYVIW4ZMdt-cupMMjb748g&cad=rja
