Logitech X540s. They aren't particularly expensive and are fucking good imo. Also supposedly Logitech have pretty good customer service. I wouldn't know, I've never had their stuff break on me. Thats a UK link, but I'm sure you can get it off the American counterpart. They are 5.1 and require a 3 way output on the back of your computer to achieve the best quality though.

These are the speakers im using for my desktop, and theyre incredibly clear, crisp, and the bass is brilliant.
For the price theyre the best you can get.
