Well, that's the thing about producing a sellable item. You need to be able to produce them for a reasonable cost then offer it to your potential customers at a price which they feel is fair. I'm not in the business of making wooden cups, however as a consumer it's well within my area of expertise to distinguish that $20+ each for a wooden mug is too expensive.
