I purchased this memory foam mattress topper last year and cut it to fit the interior of my tent. We have also used it on the floor of our home (moving in and didn't have bed arrive yet) and in both situations its been pretty comfortable. We put a duvet cover on it and roll it up with nylon straps to about 12" diameter and stick it in a closet when not in use. Pretty cheap and easy to store. If you prefer cushier mattresses I'd recommend getting something that is 4" thickness or more.
Have you considered a memory foam topper. I have one in the guest room on a blow up bed and all my guests say it's super comfy.
