Toss a $20 tank bag on it.
I bought one of these for when I want to haul something on my little bike. It wont fit the dozen closed, but you can stuff a crate to about the 8th egg and just close the zippers up around it.
I used it enough I upgraded to better magnets, but for your 2 times a month use to haul home eggs I wouldn't bother, the ones it comes with are good enough for most use.
