In the last year or two these (edit: boost packs) have included one or two equipment slots as well as one or two attribute boosts. I don't remember if there were any boost packs unlocked.

I typically do release-day delivery from Amazon, but I dig the Bauer set from GameStop.
That's completely untrue...NHL 14 has been under $50 for a while now, $29.99 on Bestbuy and Gamestop, and $36.92 on Amazon.
Since sports games are released at the start of Fall, they're usually always on sale for less than full price come Black Friday and the Holidays.
