Main reason, it will run on any AA format battery type. Alkaline (everywhere), NiCd, lithium primary (like the Energizer) NiMH (like eneloop), Li-Ion (super charge it!), whatever. When traveling this is great, you want to minimize the stuff you have to bring, and maximize your ability to use what you can get while 'out'.

It's single cell, so you only need one battery and there are no concerns over mixing batteries (intentionally or accidentally) of different charges or types.

It also has a fantastic user interface, IMO. Forward clicky tailcap, twist to lock out, mode memory, up and down buttons on the side to go up and down from where you are, if you hold up while turning it on it bypasses mode memory and starts on max, if you hold down while turning it on it bypasses mode memory and starts on minimum. Also, minimum is an auxiliary red LED to aid with preserving night vision.

And when tested, it usually shows in excess of 1,000 lumens on turbo using a fully charged Lithium Ion 14500, so if you buy and use those cells to start out with, you get big performance, yet can utilize ANY AA...with AA being by far the most common and readily available battery in the world.

I have a lot of flashlights. I bring...several...when I travel. The MT10A and a little plastic container of 4 AA batteries (1 li-ion and 3 energizer lithium) live in my carry on suitcase permanently.
