Agree with everything here (great job by u/samuelderpyson) except the 950s in raid 0. See this review of 950s in raid 0, and this comparison of load times with 950 Pro and 850 Evo.

Summary: The performance gain with a raid setup is minimal, and you'll sacrifice some CPU utilization and drive life. I'd recommend buying the 1TB 850 Evo, and spending the extra dough on a nice 1440p IPS monitor with G-Sync.

Don't worry about using 10 for your OS. With your PC specs, you can always run older games in a virtual machine if you need to.

Finally, the recommended cooler is awesome and effective (I have it too!), but also giant and brown. Have a plan for integrating it into your case Feng Shui, buy one (or two!) Noctua black/grey fans, or choose a different cooler. Edit: If you're not overclocking, your cooler doesn't need to be too crazy.

I just bought a noctua NF-P14r and I love it. Unless you're buying 120mm fans noctua pricing is competitive. You can probably get a cheaper alternative to noctua at 120mm, check fan review sites before purchasing.

My new fan has 120mm mounts but it 140mm diameter http://www.amazon.com/Bearing-Cooling-NF-P14r-redux-1500-PWM/dp/B00KF7QO2G

I don't think this is worth a post of its own (feel free to post it if it is) but Noctua's 140mm round redux fans are on sale for $18.95 on amazon, free shipping with prime: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00KF7QO2G/?tag=pcp0f-20

I had an old 92mm fan that I tried to install on my case last night and hated the extra noise. figured I'd go get something thats good and the right size haha.

I have two of these Noctua NF-P14r , if you want them. I can sell them for 10 each including shipping if you want them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KF7QO2G/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also, I have one of these Noctua NF-S12B if that is more your speed.

>You should try laughing. Maybe you'll learn something.

Lol I've been laughing at the stupid and nonsensical things you've been saying, and the mistakes you've made. Remember - My arguments and opinions are a child. You are a dictator. Reality. Snowflake."dribble".

>Just like you should learn that Redux mounts with Chromax corners (something you obviously didn't learn).

The square frame redux fans, yes, they do have extra holes in the corners. But we weren't talking about those. We were talking about the round frame 140mm fans.

You mentioned two fans to replace the NF-a15 - the redux NF p14r - only has screw holes - no holes to mount the rubber dampers. But you specifically mentioned the R fan.

The "s" redux fans that are 1500 RPM are $30. Add in the $5 in rubber dampers, and you're back up to the price of a $35 chromax... with last gen tech.

So $70 for equivalent performing fans in a different colour-

♥♥♥

> Just realized my 120mm fans on my case have died. Was just gonna stop in wherever and pick up some cheap replacements, but does anyone have any better suggestions? On sale or not.

You could also go for Noctua's redux line of fans found here. I have a couple of these in my system and they move a lot of air and are pretty silent for the most part though i run these at like 1000 RPM. These are not as good as Noctua's regular line of fans but gets the job done. Also does not come with the accessories that you usually get from Noctua fans. The only thing included are mounting screws.

Well you can get their industrial fans, I think these will work on the D14 but you might want to call Noctua about the D15 if you want the bigger one. You could also just spray paint the fans (not the heat sink!)

Edit: this fan worked for a D15 user
