I have a Peak Design plate v3 on my camera now all the time. It's square, so it will go into an arca clamp either direction, and it's very low profile so it's not in the way. You don't need to buy the capture clip, the plate works great all by itself. And should you ever buy a Peak Slide strap, it's already compatible with the anchors.
I have not needed to take it off... I just make sure everything else I use it on has an arca clamp.
