Not the person you asked but for my dogs (boxer, bullmastiff, staffie mis) this is the harness I use that clips in the front.
I started them off with the gentle leader and gradually moved them to this harness.
When they get excited they still try to lead and pull me but its far easier to get them to heal with this harness. Plus its super easy to get on and off using just one clip.
A bit of advice... the shelter I adopted the girl from did this with her and Ive been doing it since.
Attach the leash to both the collar and the harness. The Harness has enough give to allow this and it seems to help the pulling more than just the harness itself.
