I run a 6300 in a m5a97 in my box at work, highest temp I've seen is 53C after a few hours maxing all 6 cores. You won't need anymore than stock, so scrap the cooler.

Photoshop uses OpenGL/CL for the Mercury Graphics Engine, so you're going to want to go with AMD.

You can get a used R9 280x on Amazon for as cheap as £125, or an HD 7950 for £110. Both are decent cards.

Edit: Here's some benchmarks showing what a GPU can do for photoshop performance. APUs are good for Photoshop too, but they struggle in other areas.

aw hehe, i have one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Graphics-Express-Display-Technology/dp/B00BBKO65S

i'm probably gonna upgrade to an 880 though when NVIDIA releases their new range

So probably just get the cheapest that is available then, on amazon/ overclockers currently this card is the cheapest. The fact that it has boost won't matter will it?

I'm assuming you mean CPU?
If you do, I'll be getting that later when I plan to OC.

if you mean GPU;
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BBKO65S/?tag=pcp0f-21
is the one i'll be getting and there will be plenty of airflow and testing before I run everything properly.

From blizzard:

"Hey there!

Unfortunately, it that sort of artifacting is still occuring after updating the drivers it is somewhat indicative of a deeper problem - it could be a flaw in the drivers that still hasn't been fixed in the latest version - though the last time i saw such severe artifacts in any game it was the card itself at fault.

The next step would be to take those images to the card manufacturer themselves, explaining the steps you have tried sofar - they will be able to work with you on specific diagnostics to determine if the drivers remain at fault or there is a deeper issue.

Take care and have a nice day!"

So basically, they dont know. So im hoping reddit does :P

Btw, this is where I bought the card

Great build! but get this card instead : http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BBKO65S/?tag=pcp0f-21, on the right choose buyer amazon and its £208 but the only downside is a slightly worse cooler than the one in OP.

Edit: i said the cooler was better but i meant a bit worse.

You'd have to check that specifically.

This one here is a "7950 with boost": http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Graphics-Express-Display-Technology/dp/B00BBKO65S

Ok. The 7870 XT has more bang for your buck, depending on what it's going for. Looks like only the XFX and PowerColor 7870 XTs are lower than the lowest 7950, though, and their coolers aren't as good as the Sapphire 7950.

I have a Sapphire Radeon 7950 that is only a year old, never used for mining or anything like that, just gaming, that I would be willing to sell if you make a decent offer. Let me know if you have any interest. And also here is a good site that someone on here showed me that you can use to compare just about any component.
