Best bang for buck watch, and can be dressed way up or way down. Sporty watches are in. There is nothing more timeless and iconic (imo) than a diver and the SKX007 is a legend.

Take a look at the Seiko SKX007. It's a nice automatic watch with a nice price tag.

As far as divers go, I would recommend any Seiko. I have the SRP 775 and it's a lot of watch for the price (it comes in different colors too) but it's also big so if you have a small wrist, I would advise against it.:

The SKX is a great 1st dive watch too! With your budget, you could get that intramatic and the Seiko divers.

But, being r/mechanicalkeyboards and knowing people like to swap parts off you'd probably be better off with a Seiko SKX007. Now you can swap parts around all you want. I've been eyeing one to put in a nice sapphire lens, swap the bezel to something ceramic, etc.

Seiko makes the best watches at this price range. Don't listen to anyone else suggesting fashion brands like Fossil, MVMT, microbands, which are ridiculously overpriced. They most likely have a cheap movement, are not finished properly, and are quartz. Seiko makes their own automatic movements. This is a great watch, and any enthusiast would commend someone with one.

IMHO that watch is too dressy for a NATO. I think It would look fine on a leather strap though. I also feel like it's too dressy for an every day watch.

Have you considered something like an SKX007? Classic looks, can be worn with a suit, or jeans and a t-shirt. looks great on a bracelet, leather strap or a NATO. It's also in the same price range as the watch you posted.

What makes you think that? I ask because dress watches get worn the least frequently of any watch one owns in general. Do all your groomsmen dress in suits everyday for work? If not they might appreciate a nice, everyday watch. Even if they dress up, a diver or field watch on a bracelet can dress up nicely as long as the occasion isn't completely formal.

Articles upon articles for many years, and years to come, talk about how classic and eternal the watch is.

These would be much better than a Daniel Wellington sitting in some drawer. Believe me, I've been given watches that will never be worn. The ones I linked are sought after.

The Bambino is a fine watch for the price. I generally prefer Seiko lines such as the SARB, ALPINIST, or SKX for entry level watches, but the Orient makes decent looking watches too.

You mentioned that you're "getting into the world of watches." Do you have a higher end piece in mind?
