There's also this (which is hilariously expensive on the UK site), but maybe you could find something similar locally; then you just need a base board and a press board, and it'd be really heavy-duty.
Agree with this assessment. One option would be to just clamp across the width of the board with a couple sets of clamps using cauls across the width, then you don't have to jack around with the arc of the board. Probably would need quite a few clamps though, 8 or so?
Another more permanent idea comes to mind - Maybe buy a couple of these (or something like this as the recent reviews seem sketchy) and set them on spacers to gives yourself some thickness capacity -
