So that's what I did for a few years until I finally gave in and bought some "expensive" in ear headphones. Now i either repair or buy a new one pair every 5-8 years. Anyway I'd recommend the shure se215 wireless or wired (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074QQNY64/ref=twister_B07CVBPBKG?_encoding=UTF8&th=1).

Shure makes some quality stuff. They last and I do lots of stupid things with my headphones.

*edit for wrong word, cause I'm bad.

It really depends on your budget and what you want, for ease of use and portability I would get AirPods. If you're and audiophile and really want wireless IEMs you can get some shures or mee. If you want over headphones that have noise cancelling you can get either qc 35s or surface headphones. If you prefer high quality IEM's and cost isn't an issue theres CIEMs. Lastly if you just want some good headphones you want to listen at home theres a selection of sennheisers.

Looking for a new pair of headphones. They don't have to have the best sound quality ever but I don't want to compromise it too much. Have my nice Sennheiser monitor headphones at home for that experience. I'll mostly use them at work, when traveling, and at the gym (elliptical but no running).

I'm currently considering Shure SE215 but it's at the height of my budget but my friend assures me I'll love them. I had a similar pair made by Anker but they fit terribly and didn't get nearly loud enough. I'm also looking at Sennheiser HD 4.40 since I'm a fan of the brand but I worry about them being too bulky and annoying while traveling. Lastly, I'm also considering the Cowin KY02 as I like the design and idea or being able to throw them in my pocket with the case and have them charge however I'm worried that the sound quality will be garbage. I'm also down for any other suggestions.

Thanks!

Hey guys, I was hoping that someone could help me out here. I have the Shure SE 215 wireless earphones with the BT-1 Bluetooth attachment as seen here

They are Qualcomm Apt-X compatible headphones, and they work perfectly fine on my phone, the OnePlus 5. However, on MacOS, I experience problems with them. The music plays, but the sound frequently cuts out for short moments 10-20 times per minute. My mac works fine with other Bluetooth audio devices.

Using the mac Bluetooth explorer utility, I captured these graphs of what is going on when I am playing music on the device: https://imgur.com/a/fsKnj
In the second graph down, Data Rate, there are many dips in data rate. The music breaks always coincide with these dips.

Can anyone figure out why these headphones aren't working properly (and how to fix them)?

In that case, have you tried the SE 215? Might like them (could probably find used):

The only things that these (Shure SE215) don't provide are waterproofing.

I can clip the battery to the back of the neck on my shirt, and they hang around my neck all day without having to think about them.

I haven't found more comfortable IEMs. The foam ear tips make them really close to earplugs.

If the cord dies, you can replace the bluetooth cord on its own. It isn't a cheap cord, but you'll be able to keep using your old headphones. They use a standard MMCX connector, so you could even make them into wired IEMs if you'd like.

FWIW: I have worked out in these headphones, and gone on multiple hour rides in a good amount of heat and sweat, and the BT cord has yet to fail on me. If I want to use my Sena, I just unplug the BT cord and plug the IEMs into a wired cord that's plugged into my Sena's aux port. I can use the Sena mic, and actually hear what's being said, or music that's being played.

Not sure on the regulations re: ear protectors, but if you can have a small wire running to your ear, you might be able to use something like these shure wireless earbuds. They have a wire running between them, so it's a bit harder to misplace them.

These ones hook over your ear, so they are more likely to stay in-place vs earbuds alone.

In general, bluetooth by itself can't connect to more than one device at a time; so you aren't able to connect to both a left and a right speaker. You're better off looking for wireless "sport" headphones that fit inside your ear defenders.

So, I’m in the market to replace the JayBird X1s and upgrade to something with better sound quality; does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve read some reviews, and the following is a list of some Bluetooth earbuds that looked promising.

1.) Sennheiser HD1 Free Bluetooth Wireless Headphone

2.) Bose SoundSport Headphones

3.) B&O PLAY by Bang & Olufsen Beoplay 5

4.) Shure SE215-K-BT1 Wireless Sound Isolating Earphones

5.) V-MODA Forza Metallo Wireless In-Ear Headphones

6.) RHA MA750 Wireless Noise Isolating Bluetooth In-Ear Headphones

7.) NuForce Optoma BE6i Wireless Headphones

8.) Jaybird Freedom F5 Wireless In-Ear Headphones

9.) BeatsX Wireless In-Ear Headphones

I totally understand that seeking good sound quality in a pair of Bluetooth headphones is kind of an oxymoron, but I need something portable for when I’m on the go, and my good Final Audio ones are too nice to exercise with. I would greatly appreciate any advice as to what to get. Thanks!
