2999 Canon 5d iii

Look at what you can do, to absolutely demolish the IQ from the fuji:

$1,573.00 Canon 6D

$899 sigma 35 1.4

$894 sigma 85 1.4

Total: $3366.

These are top of the line lenses, better IQ than the L equivalents for the 35 and very close with the 85. These will destroy the IQ of the fuji, for basically the same price.

You get better IQ, better depth of field control, better light.

There are quite a few options available when considering prime lenses, specially if you look in the used market. Some are newer, some are a good age, some are ancient:

  1. Camera lens

  2. My camera isn't full-frame, so the regular 50mm lens doesn't quite work out as well as I'd like... I think a 35mm would help. This one in particular also because the F1.4 would be great for indoor/low-light shooting.

  3. I'd be a little sad... it's certainly not a necessity, but I feel like never getting this lens (or similar lens) would be reflective of my not going further with photography. Which is a sad thought since I do enjoy it, even if I'm not terribly great at it yet.

Oh, and lucy in the sky with diamonds. :)

The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (both old and new "Art" versions) are crop-sensor only. They DO work with full-frame in the sense that they attach and communicate with the camera and take pictures, but they exhibit heavy vingetting.

The Sigma 35mm f/1.4, however, is full-frame compatible, and is apparently an amazing lens. But it's a little bit on the expensive side.
