Personally, I plan on getting this TV pretty soon. Probably best TV you can get for the size in terms of gaming (unless you go plasma). DAT 17ms input lag

Personally, I'll be playing on a 23" Asus monitor, but I love the way it looks.
I would check out your local Best Buy and see what they have, do your research, and on Super Bowl Sunday weekend I would pick one up. I got my 46" Sony Bravia for like $900 when it was listed around $1300. Not many people know about the Super Bowl deals, I didn't, I just happened to walk into mine.
I'm thinking about getting this Sony since it has a super low response time which is good for gaming. Like I said, I play on a Asus with a 2ms response time, and when I try to play on my current HDTV, it's really noticeable when I play CoD or BF how slow it is.

You might struggle to find anything that size.
Sony Sony KDL-47W802A has 17ms, but it is larger than you were asking for.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like there is anything else anywhere near as good until you drop down to 27"

But it seems you are going to have to tolerate some lag if you want a screen right now in your size range.
