Unless things are on clearance, I can almost guarantee that I can get them cheaper through some online retailer.
I've been looking at a specific pair of headphones. At Best Buy, they are $250. http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/sony-sony-over-ear-bluetooth-headphones-mdr10rbt-black-mdr10rbt/10266452.aspx?path=855a0cacc2439226b727347480912676en02
With Amazon, they're $158 plus $10 shipping

Hell, the Sony website itself says that the MSRP is $199. http://www.sony.ca/en/electronics/headband-headphones/mdr-10rbt
So Best Buy wants me to pay not only about $80 more than what Amazon wants to charge - they want me to pay $50 more than what the manufacturer says they should cost?
Get outta here with that weak business.
You'll get better sound quality for a better price buying a good pair of regular headphones and adding a mic. Specificially I would suggest getting a pair with a detachable cord and adding this mic.
As for the wireless route, that's a bit more complicated, but you could still pair a set of wireless headphones with an external mic and getting something nice. I have this set of wireless headphones from Sony and really like them, although you could probably do better for $300. For the mic, I would get something like the Blue Snowball.
Looking for a good pair of headphones for listening to musis and gaming on my laptop.
Budget: Flexible around $100
Source: My laptop (I use it as a desktop so I do not need these headphones to be portable)
Type of Headphone: Closed Headphones
Preferred Tonal Balance: Semi balanced leaning towards bass but still able to have a wide range. (I'm new to this so if you think this is wrong for the type of music I am listening to just tell my please)
Past Headphones: JVC IEMS. I still have them and will continue to use them for portable use.
Preferred Music: Electronic( Nightcore, Nightstep, Dubstep, House, Trap, Glitch Hop, etc.) Classic Rock.
Location: USA
Headphones I am looking at right now: Right now I have had Sony MDR10Rs, Shure SRH440s, and V-MODA Crossfade LPs all recommended for me and I think they suit what I am looking for and want to know your opinions.
Side Note I have also been recommended m50's by audiotechnica but someone else here said they are uncomfortable and have too narrow a soundstage for gaming.
Most bluetooth headphone comes with a 3.5mm plug that gives you the option of what you just mentioned. As with any bluetooth headset, you're looking at something more expensive when compared to a wired headset with similar build/sound quality.
If you're using your iPhone for bluetooth listening, then you don't need apt-x (I believe they don't support it).

Look at a few post above for the Amazon lightning deal on the Senn PX210BT
I'll go first.
Your turns!
If you want actual headphones, rather than ear buds, the Sony MDR10RBT cans are very good. They also make MDR10RNCIP with noise canceling.
These are my favorite wireless headphones I've personally tried. They are on the higher end of pricing though. A cheaper set of Sony's is still great too. If you are looking closer to the $100 area, my brother has these and likes them a lot. If you really want to go cheaper at first though, Unbox Therapy did a review on these and really like them
the earphones (with mic) that came with HTC One M8 work just fine, also Sony MDR-10RBT bluetooth headphones (with mic). I use them all the time.
Wireless, noise cancelling, over the ears ones that aren't too heavy or tight. Probably the pair of Sony ones I saw, though I need to top up :) Or if looking for something within $100, I saw a pair of Skullcandy ones that seems pretty decent. But if you look for something non-wireless, they will be much cheaper for better quality.
Hi all,
So I've recently started enjoying the hobby of relaxing with good music on and wanted to move beyond external speakers into the beautiful world of headphone music.
I've never had a good pair of headphones before, that fanciest thing I've bought were $40 jogging headphones.
So, wanted the community's take on to wisely invest in a good first pair. I unfortunately live in a small college town, so stores around have limited and lame selections, which makes it hard for me to discuss what sound I like in my headphones. Suppose for a first set I'd probably want something pretty neutral. I listen to a wide range of genres, so that's no help in picking a good sound.
My main requirement, I'd like something that doesn't require an amp at all. I'll be using these headphones mostly plugged in to either my personal MacBook or the government issue Dell PC at work.
For style, definitely want full-sized, over the ear cans. Have a personal huge dislike of IEM's. No idea if I'd prefer open or closed.
K, love reddit for finding these awesome niche communities!
As one example of something I've looked at, trying not to go over $200: Sony MDR10RBT
Got the Sony MDRXB950bt (Extra Bass) but find the bass is too much. Should I switch to the MDR10RBT?
MDRXB950BT Extra Bass
MDR10RBT
This was my first time buying headphones. I decided to go with the xb950bt because it was on sale during Boxing day at $123.00 Canadian which is a good deal and also had a lot of good reviews. Plus comfort is important and this ones are very comfortable even with eye glasses.
Also I have to say the bass on this are amazing. I listen to a lot of EDM and House so that is a great thing.
However the problem comes when I want to listen to other genres. The bass muffles the other parts such as the vocals. I'm now thinking maybe to get headphones with a more balanced sound. I wonder how the 10RBT matches in terms of sound and comfort. The original retail price is $220.00 but I can get a used one for $130.00 from Amazon.
Sony MDR-10RBT or Bose Soundtrue 2?
