I've had this SwissGear backpack for 8 years now. Used for carrying textbooks/notepads, laptop + charger, headphones. Occasionally used as carry-on or when going hiking, stuffed with clothes + camera +lenses, water bottles.

Zero visible damage.

If you're open to a backpack... It may not be stylish, but man this thing is heavy duty.

I purchased this. It's durable. The handle has a steel cable. It handles my mammoth desktop replacement laptop, it's massive power brick, and chromebook and it's charger with plenty of room to spare. I have hard drives, power cords, tool kits all in there without issue. It's fully padded and is easy to carry on the back.

I am using a Swissgear pack. Holds A TON and when its packed full its not too bad on my back/shoulders.

I use the SwissGear 17" Gray Notebook Backpack ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005TPVTHO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cBlACbJNVGJVK ) and it is pretty decent. My only complaint is that it doesn't stand up by itself very well, particularly if you have tools in the front. I work as one of two SysAdmins who do a bit of just about everything, so I've always got a variety of tools, plus my laptop and other gear in my bag. For $117 I'd give it 3.5 to 4.0 stars. I am currently in the market for something different and this thread has been helpful! Thanks!

I have this and it's lasted more than 4 years without a scratch. Swiss Army builds resilient stuff. It's listed on Amazon as double the price I got it for some reason so I would hunt around for something less expensive than this but I definitely recommend Swiss Army and don't plan on ever replacing it.
