Well "computer speakers" is a confusing term usually associated with powered monitors or boxed 2.1 systems.

You just need a good set of speakers and an amplifier. I recommend the Teac LH265's and an SMSL SA36 amp

Before you jump into the Klipsch deep end make sure you like the sound of a horn tweeter. It sounds a bit different when compared to other tweeters.

The receiver you have is fine for any speaker you want to put with it. 85 watts is plenty to make any speaker loud enough for living room listening.

It is true that a more efficient speaker will require less watts to obtain a specified dB level when compared to a less efficient unit. However, if you get a powered sub and let it do the heavy lifting (bass/low frequency tones) you will allow to the ARV to not work as hard pushing the main speakers.

Now the fun begins picking speakers. I would go for a 2.1 setup consisting of a sub and some bookshelf speakers. Looks like your budget is about $400 so you're in good shape.

BIC F12 Sub $190 this will take care of the low end.

For $200...you cannot pull off 2.1 with a receiver. You would be compromising too much on the quality of all of the components to get everything. So with your budget, the choice is easy: 2.0.

Now, if you are creating a "desktop" system where you can easily turn a knob for volume (no remote control), you might have more flexibility for a 2.1. You can buy a Lepai T amp (Lepai Amp: http://www.amazon.com/Lepai-LP-2020A-Tripath-Class-T-Amplifier/dp/B0049P6OTI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413293178&sr=8-1&keywords=lepai) for $20 and a Digital to Analog Converter for $10. You would buy this instead of a receiver. That would leave you with $170 left. You can get a Dayton Subwoofer for $110 and Pioneer Andrew Jones SP-BS22 when on sale for $65 and stay close to your budget (they are not on sale right now). Alternatively, you could pick up the Teac LS-H265 for ~$90. I prefer the look and sound of the Teacs.

Another important consideration. If you have neighbors near you in your apartment, I would recommend not getting a sub because it will bother your neighbors.

For $200, you can get a 2.0 system with enough bass imho.

If you were to upgrade to a set of speakers with a 6.5'' woofer, you would get more bass. The trade off is that the speakers would be larger and more expensive (to get the same level of quality).

Note that with the Lepai Amp...that is stereo only. You will have to ditch it and upgrade to a 5.1 receiver if you want to expand your system in the future.
