Two books that are not only helpful, but also manly (needed for reading in public), and entertaining.

The Baby Owner's Manual: Operating Instructions, Trouble-Shooting Tips, and Advice on First-Year Maintenance

and

Be Prepared: A Practical Handbook for New Dads

I highly recommend both books.

EDIT: Still read the ones made for girls though (My girl is using the Babycenter one). Be a geek about pregnancy & babies, the information doesn't seem helpful now but there will be something in there that will be extremely helpful at a later date.

I am not able to as my dad has passed away, but when you feel comfortable to, ask your dad and her dad about you both as babies. See if they have tips, especially about stuff like how they handled the feeling of responsibility you will eventually get near the end of the pregnancy.

Expect fucking crazy dreams..... I don't normally dream, but lately... Jesus...

Anyway congrats, welcome to the parenting side of the fence. :D

EDIT2: Don't be a bum... Goto the baby shower if she wants you to. Glad hand some Aunts/Grannies/Cousins, they will be your future babysitters so be nice.
