I use it as my primary device for the following reasons:

  • Single task focus: I don't get distracted by all the pretty tabs.
  • Pared down: It has the essentials of what I need and what I need to do. Rarely more.
  • Delegation tool: I'm a business owner - if I can't do it on my iPad, it means it's time for one of my employees to do it.

    Essential tools:

  • Mailbox: This app changed my life. I blow through emails now and always stay at inbox zero.
  • Nozbe: Keeping my life in Nozbe has made me way more productive. GTD in general (2 minute rule is amazing).
  • Evernote: "Rmember everything"
  • iThoughts: Amazing app. I use it to brainstorm projects, blog posts, client work... everything.
  • Paper: I read Back of the napkin and never thought I'd use it. Using Paper to communicate ideas to my team has been fantastic.

I'm completely ADD 99% of the time, but my iPad gets me in the flow of getting stuff done. Totally reduces my stress.

These are both really, really good articles, thanks for posting. I have only read through the first article, and I don't think it's meant to be a comprehensive list, but one thing that is missing is presentation. And I don't mean just being able to stand in front of a group of people and walk through slides, but how to take complex idea's and make them digestable to your audience. I don't have a solid online resource, but I found this book helpful:
