I'm not. My grandparents had a similar "hidden" room for us grandkids. When they added on to their house, there ended up being some extra space in the eves on the 2nd floor. They left a little door in the closet of the spare bedroom (where us kids slept when we stayed over), and you can crawl through into a room that was maybe 6x8 and just about high enough for an adult to kneel in. They carpeted it, put in a light and a tiny round window, and filled it with books and toys and a beanbag chair. One of the books they got was this, right after it was first printed. I read the whole thing in that little hidden room in one afternoon as a 10-year-old, and I was never happier.
tl;dr - Secret rooms rock.
The Authoritative, The Essenial and the Indispensable
Can be bought together, used, for well under $20, and that should cover most (or a very good portion of) the comics.
I went looking for yours and I can't find it anywhere but I found this.
Amazon has used ones for about $5 apiece for the big collection books, seems like a great deal. As seen here.
Otherwise just have her punch book store into google and try a local one, Seattle has a bunch, and they are good at tracking down older books.
I highly recommend you include a copy of this on the first trip. Great tent reading

Just FYI, I believe Half is owned by Amazon, so browsing through Amazon's used books will get you the same sellers. Here are 'very good' condition copies of a good C&H book. This I believe is the earliest and where I started.
I then went to this one but I don't know if you can really go wrong starting anywhere...

The cover of this book is how my brain wants to be when the postman shows up. :P
