Here's a Stephen King answer with mild spoilers:
Revival - The ending of this one will leave you feeling antsy. The problem here is that the ending sorta comes out of the blue.
Carrie - The ending of this is a mix of satisfaction and tragedy.
The Dark Tower + 6 sequels - After reading seven books, you hope for a resolution, but for sai King, it's all about the journey, not the destination.
The Mist - The ending of this one is ambiguous. King doesn't really finish the story.
However, what you really want to do is watch Frank Darabont's film version of The Mist. Darabont added an ending (which King approved of) that will kick you in the crotch and stay with you long after you watch it.
Best,

Author of The Dinosaur Four (which has a mixed ending - happy for some, not for others)
I gifted /u/estherfm a book on Southwestern plants.
Second thing.
I summon /u/KilgoreTrout83, and I would gift The Mist, because it is amazing and everyone should see it and/or read the book.
Thank you for this contest.
You can order the blu ray that contains the black and white version on amazon. Sorry for the late reply.
Just in case anyone has Amazon, there just so happens to be a Prime Day deal for The Mist Blu-Ray with the included B&W version here.
