Hiroshi Inagaki's Samurai Trilogy starring Toshiro Mifune as Musashi Miyamoto. It's similar to Luke Skywalker's storyline in Star Wars but about a boy becoming a legendary samurai instead of a Jedi. Also, Musashi was a real person and these movies are based off of his book he wrote, The Book of Five Rings. Highly recommended. Get the subtitled versions.
