There are some good picture books that might help with this, and maybe let him get out his desire to talk about his feelings and thoughts without having to yell them at everyone he meets :)

I would particularly recommend Life is Like the Wind, because there's a section where it talks in general terms about different beliefs that people have about what happens after death - "People have different ideas about where a life goes when it leaves the body. Some people believe the life enters another body to give life to a new creature. Others believe life goes to a happy place called heaven, where the life can enjoy its favorite things. Some think life goes deep into the ground, giving new life to trees and flowers, or that life goes way up into the stars, where it twinkles brightly and watches over us. And some believe that a little bit of the life stays behind. Even when the body is gone, people remember and feel the life, still loving the life deep inside their hearts." (This would give you an opportunity to show him there are lots of different beliefs out there, not just the one he's heard from his grandma; you can point out which ones she believes, which ones you believe, etc). I also recommend I Miss You: A First Look at Death for a thorough nonfiction explanation of death that might clear up any misconceptions or confusion he has, and Always Remember for a lovely story about how the ocean animals remember their beloved friend old turtle after he dies. Where Did My Sweet Grandma Go? is a good one about the loss of a grandparent (there's a grandpa version too), as well as Are You Sad, Little Bear?; for the death of a pet, I would try The Forever Dog or The Tenth Good Thing About Barney. It might be too late by the time you find it, but there is a book I would like to recommend. It is a children's book (possibly a bit below her gradelevel, but this is a book for reading, not for school so it doesn't matter.) It is called The Tenth Good Thing About Barney and it is about another child who has lost a pet. Hey, I just want to tell you I had a cat once, and the cat was hit by a car, and I cried. If you feel like you need to cry, that is okay. It is sad, and people grieve when a loved one dies. I think you already know that things will get better. But it is hard to FEEL like it is going to get better. Now is an okay time to be sad. Now is an okay time to be upset, just remember that there WILL be a time to be happy again. Remember this even when you cry.

If you feel happy for a little bit let yourself. Don't feel guilty if you are happy for a few minutes, even after such a loss. Don't feel guilty if you feel happy without your parents there. Let yourself feel happy when you need to, just as you let yourself feel sad when you need to.

This book. I will eventually need it when I need to explain death to my daughter. It was what my father read with me when our cat died in 2nd grade.
