First off you are gonna rock blue-on-blue, which is very good but I'd recommend getting a tie in something totally else color-wise to contrast that color.
Second off you are gonna have checks in your shirt. Still, verry good, but a lot more going on as the "canvas" for your tie compared to a plain shirt.
With these in mind I would not go for a strong pattern, fighting the checks, as more texture or some very understated pattern. And not having blue in it.
