I've heard just the opposite - that N,N is the flash, the bells and whistles if you will, and 5MeO is a direct link to "the source." Have you read Tryptamine Palace? Check it out if you haven't.

Yes these will show you a little something about N,N-Dimethyltryptamine. For info about 5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (which is a TOTALLY different experience than N,N) go here:

It's not what you think.

Your experience is a not unheard of effect, though usually it's not so dysphoric.

After a full release, some number of people find that other substances or meditative practices, their brain's nightly melatonin release, or even nothing in particular can prompt reactivations of the compound. Most people may find this startling at first but typically enjoy it once surrendering into it. These experiences usually fade to an extent within a few weeks or months.

Some people who have had unpleasant experiences say that they can persist for months or even much longer; Darkness Shining Wild chronicles one such person's story.

You may find James Oroc's Tryptamine Palace helpful in contextualizing your ongoing experience. When you encounter these visions, focus on your breathing and don't fight them or the experience. Attempt to surrender into it, breath deeply, and just exist.

In addition, you should definitely avoid other tryptamines for some time or even indefinitely, as those can often reactivate one's experience. If you do choose to consume other substances, including marijuana, consume them at lower than usual doses.
