u/IrregularFilm - if I were upgrading to shoot run and gun today, I'd get the BMPCC 4K with a gimbal over the GH5. Same lens mount, RAW recording and, with dual native ISO, better in low light.

You can get a $1,295 Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K with a $15.99 XLR to mini XLR adapter cable, a $379 Feiyutech AK2000 gimbal, a $79.99 SmallRig cage, a $25.99 SmallRig SSD mount, an $89.99 500GB Samsung SSD, a $19.99 SmallRig battery plate, a $24.50 12V to Weipu cable and a $31.99 set of two NP-F batteries & a dual charger for about the same price as a $1397.99 GH5 with a $397.99 DMW-XLR1 adapter.

For lenses, I would sell the 14-140 and the 25/1.7 and get a Sigma 18-35/1.8 plus a Viltrox or Metabones focal reducer/adapter. Switching to EF mount now will be less expensive than doing it later, when you want to upgrade to an EF mount cinema camera (e.g., a Blackmagic Pocket 6K or URSA, Canon Cinema Camera, Panasonic EVA1 or Varicam LT, RED Raven or a Sony FS cam with an adapter).

The Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has 13-stops of dynamic range plus an internally recorded losslessly compressed 12-bit RAW codec with 4096 colors per RGB channel (which will give you more control over your images than the GH5's 1024 color/channel 10-bit).

It also has direct to SSD recording [without an expensive external recorder] plus a mini-XLR input with phantom that you can plug your NTG-2 into with a $16 cable - features the GH5 lacks.
