stain and seal, it's around $100 if you go for the
ikea legs, the sit/stand combo is barely $300
A friend of mine recently got a standing desk without the top so that could be one option. I think it would probably be cheaper overall if you got that and just found a tabletop or had one cut for you (or you could do it yourself if you want a nice project to work on).
