Meh, the 970 was in incredibly high demand at launch and no reputable retailer was charging $100+ MSRP. It was even possible to get a 970 at MRSP or below during the week of release. I'm inclined to believe that the Founder's Edition being priced at a markup gave retailers/AiB partners reason to believe that they could slap the same markup on their cards and get away with it. Why else would retailers be charging exactly $449 for non-ref cards, the same exact price of the Founders Edition cards?

Your GPU is holding you back. I'd upgrade that thing. Your CPU is fine ATM, maybe OCing would help with multitasking performance. I would purchase a RX 580 8 GB or GTX 1070.

www.egprices.com Compare with amazon price multiplied by 13
Since the dollar crisis it has been especially bad (overpricing).

A Zotac 1070 on Egprices - Price as of this post: 6450 EGP.

Same exact thing on Amazon - Price as of this post: 430 USD

Multiplier:

6450 / 430 = 15

USD price is around 12.5 EGP on the black market.

What do you think about this 1070?

Would I be getting a significant performance increase coming off of my EVGA GTX 970 SC?

u/_twllsted_ · 1 pointr/buildapc

So I could buy any of these and get similar results?

ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Turbo Edition

MSI GAMING GeForce GTX 1070 8GB!

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming

ASUS GeForce 8GB Dual-Fan OC Edition

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 AMP! Edition

EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW

If theres not much of a difference should I just buy the easiest to cool, best ratings, or lowest price?

You definitely can fit the GTX 1070 in your Coolermaster N200 case.

I have the same Gigabyte H110M-A motherboard and in a much smaller case (Micro ATX Corsair Air 240) and it fits in my GTX 1070. Your case is much larger and has more room for large cards.

I have an EVGA GTX 1070 SC, which is about the same size as the Zotac Amp Extreme. Mine is actually a little thicker at 4.4 inches, while the Zotac is 4.3 inches, according to Amazon's specs for that card.

My card covers the next PCIe slot, so only the 3rd PCIe slot is fully visible. The edge of the 1070 is right up against the outside edge of the black PCIe slot.

As far as being able to keep your WiFi card, hmm.... The TP-Link WiFI card is pretty thin, if I remember -- I've got one in another PC -- and you may be able to fit it in there, too. It'll be close, but it looks like you can.

My only concern is that if you can fit the WiFi card in there, it may block the fans in the Zotac card so the Zotac may get pretty warm while playing games. The TP-Link is pretty thin card though so perhaps you'll be fine.

You said you already have a GPU in there, so I'm assuming you've had no issues.

You can download an app to monitor your card temperatures. Usually the card manufacture may have an app for that or you can use something like the free version of Speccy to check your temps.

You can preorder a Zotac 1070 right now.

With a little patience, it'll be to you shortly.

Ordered this one. Think you can find more good deals on amazon.de

Ignoring dutch retailers seems to by the best with videocards lately. :)

I see that this Zotac Amp 1070 is pretty much the only 1070 in stock that arent being sold by scalpers. That being said, I was curious if there is any reason to not get this graphics card? It says it would get here July 15 at least, do you guys think that an EVGA card would come back in stock by then and if so, should I just wait for the EVGA card?
