I'm guessing you are talking about the first gen. But the Zune HD is not bulky.
I'm sure there are other reasons to dislike the thing. But not needing itunes is a giant fucking plus point for me.

Do you know what cost efficiency is? How old is your iPod? How many ToS agreements have you signed in the last year?

The fact is, I payed $250 for an mp3 player in 2006 that was so technologically advanced for its time that in the next two years while iPods were getting radio and wifi options, I was cruising with a shit brown invulnerable brick of portable music, and I've never been convinced any kind of update has been necessary. All you are is bitter. I bet you even have a smart phone.
EDIT: Oh, I just remembered what I meant to say earlier! So, basically, if the Zune is discontinued, does that mean they'll shut off my Zune and not let me use it anymore? I mean, what a stupid argument! It's been the best pocket companion for the last five years of my life, why would it stop being that just because the company decides to stop manufacturing them? The model I own was discontinued in 2007, does that mean I've enjoyed it less since then? No. Like a fine wine, I've learned to appreciate it and its abilities more and more with age. As you Apple slaves line up to take your annual dick slappings at the mall, I'm content with a simple and practically perfect device.

I never really used MP3 players much once my phone became an adequate substitute so not sure what is so speical about the Zune HD

I'm still impressed at how head of its time it's design was. I'd go as far as saying that the ZuneHD is closer to the Iphone X and Pixel's design than the iphone 3GS.
