I pm'd you, and you said to go ahead and post, so here I go! (If it's too late, I understand, no worries!)

1: This delightful elephant teapot! It relates because you need a drink to toast with, and I need it for school because I'm pretty sure it's illegal to go to boarding school in England without a teapot.

2: Command Hook Refill Strips It relates because brooms are for cleaning, and organizing is related to cleaning. I need it for school because I love hanging things up in my dorm room, and I wouldn't dream of damaging the walls of Hogwarts!

3: This figure of Irvine from Final Fantasy 8 It relates because he wears a hat, and he used it in the game to flirt with one of the other characters. They're both my favorite characters from the game, and I love their understated romance. I need it for school because I like displaying my nerdy side with action figures in my dorm room.

4: TokyoMilk Dark #28: Excess Because I want an EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF BOOKS. And I need for school because, I mean, there will be dudes and probably some ladies at Hogwarts who are in to ladies and I intend to capitalize on that at some point.

5: Cards Against Humanity: The Bigger, Blacker, Box It relates because the box is basically the size of a trunk, and you can put LOTS of cards/stuff in it. I need it for school because no friendship is complete until you see how terrible a person you each are, and I plan on making lots of friends.

6: An Appa Plush! It relates because capes allow superheroes to fly, and Appa flies, and Team Avatar are essentially superheroes so you could say that Appa is their collective, living cape. That they lose at one point. I need it for school because I need something to cuddle at night to help me not feel homesick.

Mischief Managed!

You can find the bamboo-box style (collects water in the bottom of the box) for $15-$25 from a lot of sources, which is a good way to start gongfu cha on the cheap. But I recommend against them in the long terms since they tend to crack and leak over time, unless you use a separate waste-water bowl for rinses and such.

Instead get one with a plastic catch tray underneath. They tend to cost more, but there are common enough that you should be able to find a basic one in the $30-40 range. Even Amazon carries them from a number of sellers, like this one for $35 or this one with a more common design for $43. Those were from a quick search, there are tons more on there that might be better for a lesser price.

Got it last week. I like birds. I like gaiwans. This one seemed like a good fit.

I bought it here

u/mongoose4004 · 2 pointsr/tea

Thank you! It's funny you say that, since during the session we talked about how we need a bigger tray for when we're both drinking or have our friends over!

My wife bought it on Amazon, actually and it was relatively inexpensive. I think this is it!

I love tea in the woods!

I have taken one of these sets out a few times and it is always really nice.

We stopped by a creek to have tea under a natural bridge

This is the gaiwan I got on amazon-singly handedly one of the best tea purchases I've ever made. I have no regrets. Used to be prime, but they changed it. It's not too hot to handle, and retains heat quite well. Read the review for better pictures and such.

What can't you get her that's under $50?!

u/Bachstar · 4 pointsr/entwives

I do the same! Peppermint tea is so refreshing! I also got a Chinese tea set (the ones with the little cups) from an Asian grocery. The fact that you have to keep refilling the cups totally helps you feel like you're getting more out of it. And it's got a ritual kind of appeal to it which goes well with the weed, sort of meditative.

I have this one and I positively love it. It has a plastic tray underneathe, therefore there is no leaking.

I didn't notice the intense bready smell of beer until I was about a month into not drinking. I always recognized it on an 'alcoholic beverage' level, but after a month I smelled it from about 10 feet away and it was incredibly enticing smelling. I don't know if it was the sobriety, being off of carbs, or what, but it was certainly interesting to notice it in that way.

Now a few days ago (2 months in), I picked up a glass of wine to figure out if it was wine or coke (it was my roommate's, in a tall stemmed iced tea glass. Hah, might have an alcohol problem if you drink red wine out of a 16 oz tea glass.), and the smell was incredibly off putting. I didn't even recognize that it was wine at first, I just was hit by the medicinal/chemically smell and it took me a few seconds to figure out what it even was. I guess that's what wine smells like when you're not in its grips in at that time.

So I've been wanting a glass teapot for a while now and bought one off of Adagio Teas however I didn't check ZENS. There's also the larger teapot that I was looking at from ZENS as well.

What do you all prefer? I'm leaning towards the Zens one (49oz) at the moment and am thinking of just returning the Adagio teapot but I may be just making another impulse decision haha.

u/rarelyserious · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

As an avid anglophile I'd defect.

First I'd have this flying in front of my home.

Then, when they came to check me out they'd find me wearing this and acting like this.

I would then invite them in for a spot of this

You can take my freedom, but you'll never take my tea!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for voicing their input on my question. After considering the info presented, I think I will go with this ceramic tea pottea pot , based on size, design and it’s built in infuser. Plus it comes with two cups. Again, thanks to you all for educating me on tea pots!

I was looking at Gongfu sets on amazon the other day and came across this Tea Soup & Fine Day Chinese Portable Ceramic Travel Tea Set and laughed.

It's tea BROTH not tea soup. duh.

u/gremlynn · 3 pointsr/tea

Not OP, but I have a set that looks just like the celadon pot and cups, I found it as a travel set on Amazon:

Go for it! Mine is this one- rainbows and tea are a perfect mix!

u/hyunh · 2 pointsr/tea

These ZENS guys are making some beautiful tea wares. I have this in my shopping list and gonna buy it on payday.

Still, your tea set rocks!

u/AsherMaximum · 2 pointsr/tea

Yeah, you can definitely do that. Just make sure your filter basket is nice and big, since there's a lot more leaves used.

However, a note - I tend to not do it that way, because of how many steeps you can get in gong fu style.
I don't like leaving leaves for multiple days, and I typically have about 3 standard mugs (30oz/900ml total) a day. Depending on the tea, I can get 6+ brews out of it, so instead of having 3 standard 300ml mugs, I use a gaiwan or a small portable tea brewer and have 6-7 smaller cups, using the same leaves all day.
If I want a full mug so I don't have to go brew anther cup while I'm working, I do two infusions of 150ml each, and pour them both into my mug.

u/kawarazu · 1 pointr/tea

Are you looking for a portable infuser, or a bottle that can infuse? I recommend this : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071Y4H8KJ/

primarily because you can carry around the same set of leaves and brew gongfu anywhere as long as you have water. Note though, this is not sealed, it will leak minor amounts of water so make sure to use the case it comes with.
