Its very relavent to what your looking for and is a fascinating read. Keep a journal by your bed and write down your dreams as soon as you wake up. Also the Monroe institute has done a ton of studies on lucid dreaming and Robert Monroes interviews are awesome to listen to if you havent heard of him.

I am also a Texas Mason... and I found that my mother lodge rushed through all of that mostly because none of the master's of the lodge had any actual understanding of the symbols or their meaning.

They sure knew what to say, but for most of them, masonry was just a place to hang out with some guys and have some beers after.

It was not until I started my Rosicrucian training that the symbols of masonry had any actual meaning.

I left my mother lodge to join a lodge that really focused on the esoteric meaning of the esoteric work.

I highly recommend Freemasonry and Ritual Work: The Misraim Service by Rudolf Steiner and The Temple Legend : Freemasonry and Related Occult Movements by Rudolf Steiner if you want a real understanding of the meaning behind everything contained in the lectures and degrees.

I presented a workshop in Houston two years ago. I live in Las Vegas (and part-time in Costa Rica). Right now I'm only doing a few presentations in the western U.S.

The book is Ancient Wisdom for a New Age and is available on Amazon, Kindle and Nook. Also used copies at AbeBooks.com. It is in hardcover and softcover and there is also a version in Spanish.

>It is difficult to imagine why professional philosophers, as much as they are trained in reason and logic, can be engaging in something as incomprehensible and unreasonable as institutionally refusing to criticize religious claims.

I don't know what's given you the impression that philosophers refuse to criticize religious claims, but it's not accurate. Philosophers overwhelmingly identify as atheists, and are usually not hesitant to say so. Unless your school is religiously affiliated, I'd bet that if you do head over to the philosophy department and ask whether they think God exists or not, they'll be happy to tell you that they think he doesn't.

Some resources you may wish to investigate are the atheism and agnosticism SEP article and the Cambridge Companion to Atheism.

edit: Additionally, you could check out a monograph like Mackie's Miracle of Theism or Parsons' God and the Burden of Proof.
