Killzone 3 gameplay looks pretty good in 3d. The cut-scenes show some distortion, but otherwise, it looks pretty good.

I think the 3d was done better for Uncharted 3.

I also have a Samsung TV that requires active IR glasses. I got these from Amazon and they work pretty well: http://www.amazon.com/NXG-Technology-NX-3DGR-Shutter-Rechargeable/dp/B004QZ1LKS/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1322577628&sr=8-16

Now that the official Samsung glasses have dropped in price, you could just get those though.

u/skitech · 2 pointsr/funny

Also if you would like to boost that joy to I imagined levels get a few of these. Seriously I’m 30 and I they get me pretty happy looking at lights the children will lose their minds.

Honestly, they were all really similar.

If you're happy with the Sainsonics and don't really have any complaints, I'm not sure that you're going to be wow'd by a different pair. If you have complaints, then I'd look around a bit.

The biggest differences were in the physical frames themselves. The Ultra Clears & Sainsonic Zebras are shaped almost exactly the same. Though, the Sainsonics had an easier to use Switch to turn them on and they are slightly heavier, and the hinges felt stronger. The UltraClears have a button that is a little difficult to use without taking the glasses off as its flush with the frames, you need to use your fingernail.

The other ones that I tried are made by a million different companies: Emgreat, Pergear, and look like this

They're fairly well reviewed, and image-wise they do ok. Though the lenses are a little smaller than some of the others, and the open frames caused me to be distracted. The plastic is also super flimsy, and I'd expect them to break after bout 10 uses. But, they're a decent extra pair to keep around for friends, etc. with minimal use.

I'd really like to try a pair of the EStars as they were the consensus #1 for awhile on avsforum, but I don't believe you can find the DLP-Link version anymore at a reasonable price ($180 currently on Amazon).

I also have not tried any of the True Depth models, which are apparently quite good, as I was happy with the ~$20-25 models that I tried, and the True Depths were ~$80 for two at the time I was looking. I couldn't find singles, and didn't want to have 5 models to keep track of.

I used to do this but it got so annoying. I got good 3d glasses but the ghosting was always in the way. In dark places you just can't see anything because the image isn't bright enough.

The feeling when I first tried it was amazing. I loved the 3d view from my sky train. But after that 3d feeling went away, it was just a nuisance. Try it for a while with cheap glasses then if you can still tolerate it, go for a good pair.

These are the glasses I got: http://www.amazon.com/Style-Glasses-Movies-Games-Screens/dp/B002T0D81C/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1322254011&sr=8-15

I wear glasses! My last pair were normal sized, and the 3D glasses fit ok over them. I now have oversized (hipster style) glasses, so I bought some larger RealD 3D glasses off Amazon and they fit and work perfectly. These are the glasses I bought. I tried them out at Captain Marvel, and they’re awesome.

u/sunkencity999 · 2 pointsr/cyberDeck

Haha, thank you kindly!

The headset is super basic...I noticed folks where using HMD's to watch their drones, thought it would be a great way to use with a deck. Basically like having a large screen floating in front of you, no tracking or anything. The new Oculus Quest coming out next year has me salivating though....imagine of it could take USB input for a mech?

These are the ones my friend bought (I use portals and he uses these then we combine them from time to time). They are a tiny amount 'cloudy' but I think that is common with diffraction glasses. I haven't seen any that aren't, but again I'm not usually looking around for diffraction glasses.

Anyways, have fun and be safe! Feel free to message me at any time if you have any questions :D

These heart diffraction glasses would give me a big smile.

It is possible to make glasses that do this by butchering 2 pairs of glasses and hooking both lenses up to either the right or left cycling circuit (one pair right, other left) then when in 3D mode you only see your half of the screen. It works, but it looks a bit average.

> The second I try to focus on any of the balls on my brock string, the image (its more of a ghost of an image) in my right eye completely phases out.

So it sounds like the image from your right eye gets suppressed... but what do you see when you aren't focused on a particular ball? Also, the balls on my brock string can move and the string itself is over 6 feet long - have you tried ball positions farther away than your arms can reach?

>In order for me to see the two strings and two sets of balls, I need to relax my eye, but that lets it go lazier. How do I do these exercises if I can't fuse the balls? (everything I see online says "put the balls in a place where you only see one and the string makes an x through it") I can see perfectly fine out of my right eye when I cover my left though (but I can't really read with it... is that weird?), so it's very frustrating - I just want to be able to make one ball that ISN'T JUST MY LEFT EYE'S IMAGE!!!

I have problems with suppression and convergence as well, but for me relaxing and looking "off into the distance" tends to suppress my weak eye. Not wearing my glasses suppresses my weaker eye as well - which makes some of the patching exercises hard. My vision therapist has me doing the brock string exercises with the red/green glasses (kinda like these:https://www.amazon.com/Magenta-green-Movie-Plastic-Anaglyph-Glasses/dp/B006J3JCDS/ ). It makes for some weird color shadings inside the X when the right and left images fuze, but it seems to be helping me. I've also been assigned "pencil pushups" in the past before we started with the brock string... so maybe those would help?

Nope. There are no 3D PS4 games, and currently have no 3D Blu-Ray playback support (but considering it came to PS3, it might come to PS4).

It's a great monitor regardless, just think of 3D as an optional extra, even though it requires the [Nvidia 3D Vision 2 glasses.] (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nvidia-Vision-Wireless-Glasses-Kit/dp/B005ZXYE0O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398715546&sr=8-1&keywords=nvidia+3d+vision+2) :)

I’m seeing tons of options on Amazon. I always liked the ones that came with my LG 3D TV, like these. They’re lightweight and comfortable.

I’ve read good things about “GamE-blyopia” which is on Android and iOS. You will need 3D anaglyph glasses to use with the app. Here’s a link to a relatively high quality option, just make sure that you calibrate the app to the same colors as the glasses for each eye.

Also, the Oculus Rift is around $250 used, and sometimes new, on EBay. It’s the Vivid Vision software and access to a vision therapist to set it up for you which can be expensive. However, all of that qualifies as a medical expense if you have an HSA.

u/kevin2357 · 2 pointsr/solareclipse

If you're really worried about it, note that there are 4 manufacturers whose products and manufacturing process have gone through the official ISO testing and certification for safe solar viewing: Rainbow Symphony, American Paper Optics, Thousand Oaks Optical, and TSE 17 (more info at https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/safety )

I got my eclipse glasses, and my camera solar filter, from Thousand Oaks. Good company, been in the business a long time, has had previous large-scale contracts for their solar filters with NASA, Discovery Channel, Nat Geo, etc.

There are probably other manufacturers that build perfectly safe solar filters but haven't put in the time to get officially ISO certified. I'd expect that most eclipse glasses on Amazon are probably just fine. But if you're worried at all about it, go with one of the previously mentioned 4.

As an aside, is that $9.99 for a single pair? You can get packs of 5 or 10 for about that much from other manufacturers. American paper optics has a 10 pack here for $14. Thousand Oaks has a 5 pack here for $12.

u/OverlordQ · 5 pointsr/gaming

> Active glasses are expensive.

OH GOD, NOT $20!!!!

u/spawnflagger · 1 pointr/gaming

Cool. If it's a DLP projector, and you haven't done 3D yet, I use this box along with 4 pairs of Xpand X103 glasses. Nice thing about those glasses are they use standard watch batteries and fit over regular glasses. Set the glasses to Mitsubishi mode, and hit the L/R button on the transmitter.

u/TheRealJVance · 2 pointsr/Odesza

Mine actually look like clear (but a bit hazy) reading glasses. It was my first time using them. So worth e wait for odesza

u/Torisen · 5 pointsr/gaming

Amazon.com pretty consistently rocks in the customer service department.

Another upvote for them!

You can take that 10$ and buy four pairs of THESE

u/Deccarrin · 5 pointsr/AdviceAnimals

You can get clip ons :) http://www.amazon.co.uk/3D-clip-glasses-circularly-polarized/dp/B005574B9E

There are also really cheap ones. And most cinemas stock them themselves. You just have to ask.

u/Neodymie · 1 pointr/hometheater

I just spent 80 bucks on 4 pairs of the battery powered ones yesterday. Gonna take those back and grab four of these. Thanks.

EDIT: words

u/nikondork · -1 pointsr/Minecraft

Dude, fuck off trying to shill your overpriced, shitty cardboard red/cyan glasses like they are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

If anyone wants a cheaper, better alternative, you should try these over at amazon.com. They're like half the price of this guy's rip-offs, and they have a nice sturdy plastic frame with nicer, larger hard plastic lenses.

Also, the 3D anaglyph mode in Minecraft isn't all that great and isnt much more then a novelty. You'll try it for about a half hour before your eyes begin to hurt from the strain, you start developing a headache or you have difficulty telling which blocks are which in your hotbar from the muted colors. It's really not all that great and everyone I know, including myself has only tried it once or twice briefly before switching back to traditional view.
