I've been using this Gator case double bag for about a year now and it's fucking awesome.

These days I'm gigging on average about 5-6 shows a month so it's getting lots of love being thrown in and out of my car and various venues and I haven't had any major failures with any components.

Really high quality, the shoulder straps are well padded, lots of storage pockets including a really nice plush lined front pocket with a laptop slot. It even has a rain parka stashed in a pocket on the back so you can rainproof it if you get caught outside in a storm.

Can't say enough good things about this bag and, while expensive, it's about as much as you'd pay for a pair of hardcases anyway and makes your life SO much easier being able to carry two guitars on your back with your hands free.

> They dead unless you are spending over 2k

I once came in with cash to buy a Taylor 214ce deluxe, for $1000. There was a seasonal sale that brought it from $1299 to $1000. Naturally I walk in and the sale just ended now it was back to full sticker price. A guy asks me if I need help and I tell him I want this guitar at the $1000 sale price, he says he can't do it and goes on and on about his warranty for an extra $60, bla bla bullshit, I let him finish his script and kindly ask for the sales manager. Sales manager comes in and I tell him I came here with $1000 for the seasonal sale price on this guitar. If he can fix the price back to that, he sells a guitar today, if he can't, I'm out the door. He looks aggravated, asks me to wait, walks away for 15 minutes and comes back, gives me the green light. They bring my guitar to the front desk, another guy brings the case, I notice it's not the good case, and the label on the guitar clearly says it comes with a "deluxe" case, because this is the "deluxe" model. Another big sigh from both of them, they disappear for another 10 min and come out with the correct one with red velvet lining which looks 100x better and sturdier. He looks defeated at this point. Rings me up for a grand, i decline the extra warranty knowing that Taylor already has a limited warranty anyway and I never buy warranties for a good guitar, the shit was already built to last. Then I ask since I'm spending a grand, can he throw in a set of $5 guitar strings. This is when he cracked and all the fake cordial behavior went away and he said "Sir, you're already getting a good enough deal". I said thanks grabbed my new guitar and went on my way.

The point of this story is, I don't think a lot of youth realize that the sticker price on all these guitars is merely a suggestion. Be firm, be ready to walk, have your research done and a number you're willing to pay and take a chance. Also, the first guy who talks to you can't do anything for you, always ask for the sales manager, he determines price changes at guitar center.

Depending on price you can get some very nice all leather cases.

The whipping post one is beautiful but I believe you would have to find one second hand.

Something like this?

I don't own it, but my sister owns one kind of like it. She uses it for an acoustic, but it could definitely fit an electric.

I have an extremely cheap (beginners) A-style mandolin which I bought from a friend, and it came in this bag, which is probably worth as much as the instrument (and is actually for an F-style). It works for me, as it's light (Amazon listing has it at 2 lbs) and has a lot of pockets. Obviously it doesn't offer a ton of protection, but it's reasonably stiff for a gig bag. I don't know what you need for attachment points, but the detachable straps on this model are a feature which might fit your needs.

Depending on what you're looking at you might get away with modifying an existing case also.

Does it need to be a hard case? It came with a really bulky soft case, but Iā€™m wondering if that would absorb some of the moisture. This is the case it came with: https://www.amazon.com/Taylor-Guitars-JB-61065-Mini-Gig/dp/B00B8X8QOK

Thanks for the help!

It doesn't look like any of the Gator ProGo bags will fit an Explorer shape like that. You could try the 335/V case, but it's really hard to tell if it would fit.

Easier to go with a purpose built bag like this.

Ask and ye shall receive!!

Crossrock Deluxe Wood Hard Case for OM/000 Guitar Case, Compatible to 4/4 Classical Guitar, Tweed(CRW600OMTW)

Fits pretty well. The endpin has to go in first and the upper bouts are a bit tight but a few weeks later and it seems good enough for me. It is also not specific to the cutout style.

A gig bag had its advantages, like slinging it over your shoulder and heading out. A very good hard case is this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004I6ZGWO/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I have one for a dreadnought and is a very solid case for the price.

Thinking of ordering this one because it looks very durable, and it has a lock on it which is nice since I was eventually planning on bringing this with me to my dorm, and dont want to risk someone stealing it or just picking up and dicking around with it while im not around. It may not be a $3k guitar but its still mine and I dont want people to mess around with it while im not around.

My questinon is, do you think it will fit the guitar? Martin only has the scale length of the guitar which is about 25", and the other one has the length of a guitar and lists it up to 22" ish. Not sure if it will fit.

Thanks!

Guitar, Amp, Instrument Cable, Headphones, Auto-Tuner, Metronome, Capo, Picks, Strings, Stand, Strap, Bag, String Winder, Polish & Cloth

Don't make them spend more than ~$200 on this. Consider pitching on for some of the accessories at least (though be aware that some of them are quite necessary right off the bat, such as a tuner).

You won't be able to appreciate the difference between a $100 guitar and a $5000 guitar by sound for at least a year and just to get started you need a bunch of supplies (see list above) and the cost adds up quick.

The guitar won't break unless you abuse it. Squier instruments are decent. In fact, you could even get something like a First Act at Walmart for under $100 and still not be able to appreciate the difference for quite a while.

Get a diaper bag like this Graco. These are serious bags with lots of pockets. Go with something colorful and you'll hide in plain sight.

For your AR use a guitar bag and take a page from Chicago gangsters and their violin case tommy guns.

Nothin suspicious here, folks.
