I’m new as well but I’ve done lots (maybe too much) research. What is your budget? From what I understand Windsor & Newton Cotman paints are a good student/hobby grade paint. They sell them in nifty little 12 pan kits that pretty much provide all the colors you need to make good mixes.
Here is a travel set for about $13:
Winsor & Newton Cotman Water Colour Sketchers Pocket Box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004THXI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_qq8Tzb8SY82G3
If you are willing to spend a little more on paint for artist grade I hear excellent things about these: St Petersburg White Nights Watercolour : NEW 12 Pan Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006FHNE3C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Gt8TzbT5PD01H
I’ve seen these really cool portable brushes: High-end art travel painting brush Synthetic Sable Round Hair Short Handle Brush for Acrylic Oil and watercolor painting 3Pcs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M3VMDED/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_5r8TzbVV97JR3
Or you can use a water brush: Pentel Arts Aquash Water Brush Assorted Tips, Pack of 3 (FRHBFMBP3) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AX31TZO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Os8TzbN7TW9AQ
As for Paper, I really want one of these myself: Moleskine Watercolor Album Sketchbook - 5"x8" (Spanish Edition) https://www.amazon.com/dp/8883705629/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vz8TzbWWMHY1M
I hope this helps! :)
In general, as far as nicer sable brushes go, most people tend to recommend Windsor & Newton Series 7 and Raphael 8404. Typically they come as single brushes, though I think they have sets if you were so inclined. There are a few other brands too, like Broken Toad or Da Vinci.
From what I've read, Citadel's Artificer brushes are just rebranded Windsor & Newton Series 7 that are sized to Citadel's custom sizes (XS, S, M instead of the standard numbered sizes). So you end up paying more for the same thing, but they are certainly nice brushes if GW is your thing.
For synthetic brushes, the popular suggestion is the Princeton Select Artiste brushes.
Took out any affiliate/referral parts of the Amazon links in case you wanted to use them to buy.
Additionally, Miniac has a good video where he reviews a handful of popular brushes: https://youtu.be/DbCBdEjrFj8
No idea why the buying guide got removed, though. It was a little subjective so maybe that's why? I hope at least another one gets put back up.
Painting supplies, I like a mix of cheap and quality brushes.
Paints... Either buy peice meal what you need from local shop or buy a nice big kit to start.
EDIT - Don't forget spray primers. A nice flat Krylon or Rust-Oleum grey can do the job for anything. Or get one white and one black can for various needs.
Brushes
Paints
The brushes cost about £5.48 for 5 assorted brushes and the paints, £14.73 for ten tubes.
The paint is pretty decent student quality, its quite versatile and is pretty much a bargain. I personally use it to paint (it what we used at school) and handles fantastically well for the price.
The brushes are good for the price, theyre not going to last forever, but they do handle well and are easy to control and to be honest I still have a few of them that I use, Once again pretty decent student quality.
If you're acrylic painting there isnt much more that you need. I'd probably start on cartridge paper just to get to grips with it before moving on to canvas (although they behave and feel slightly different on the different surfaces)
Here’s my out-of-the box suggestion: If you can find the style of shoe you like in a light or neutral color, then you can paint the shoe with Angelus brand leather paint in metallic silver. I have done this several times when I have loved a shoe but couldn’t find the right color, with great results. Tape the soles and parts you don’t want painted with frog brand painters tape. Painting is in three steps: apply finisher and deglazer and let dry, apply paint and let dry, then apply finisher and let dry. Hopefully you can find the right color shoes, but I wanted to put this option out there just in case. If you decide to do this, message me and I will be happy to send detailed instructions.

Awesome! I’ll look into the paper for sure. I’ve been eyeing Arches, but it seems like an extravagance for someone who has no idea what they’re doing LOL!
I am using Winsor & Newton pans at the moment and Strathmore 140# cold press paper and just bought these brushes . I have no idea whether they’re actually any good, but they’re a damn site better than the water brushes I bought and the one that came with my pan set! 😊
Edit: a word
Honestly? Anything cheap that will consistently come to a good point. Use the largest brush you feel you can control. I'm in America, and I buy bulk sets from Hobby Lobby most of the time. The best I've gotten was 12 size 8's for $1.50, but that was on 75% of clearance, more's the pity.
I prefer Golden Taklon brushes, but that's just me. If you're in the UK, I can't tell you any specific brand to shoot for. If you can find a version of these (I've seen them under like three different brands, so just check your local craft shop to see if they have them) they're usually pretty solid, and gives you several different sizes. When using that set, the one I use for general painting is the size 6, but I find a use for the rest.
If you want to invest, you can get these. I've not personally used them, but I've heard good reviews for them.
Edit: Also, the beauty of buying in bulk and on sale is that if one of the brushes isn't good, I can toss it, and not feel bad.
Precision will come with practice and having fine detail brushes. You can by the GW ones, but there are other sets that give you more bang for your buck. Below are two links for some brushes, I have both and use a mix of the brushes. You want a nice range of larger brushes for the (eventual) larger models, and the smaller ones obviously for finer details.
For help with precision, there are youtube videos to help teach techniques, but again, comes with practice.

That is a great first model though, next step would be picking out some of the smaller details.
painters tape. a flat edge brush. and solvent or water to keep the paint slippery. Ever heard of "Big Kids Choice Brushes"? It's a super cheap brand but has a great variety f brush shapes I find them super helpful!
https://www.amazon.com/Royal-Brush-Choice-Shader-Package/dp/B000XZGFRY/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_201_tr_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=HE2GEDKHPVT80B337103

First some basics:
for miniature painting we use acrylic colours and there are a lot of different brands available some are more famous among miniatures and scale models (because they have specific colours available, like the one you linked is a palette fur US WW2 military colours) some are more often used by artists and all of them have their advantages. The same with brushes and in the end it is more about personal preference and availability (makes no sense to buy the brand people say it is good but you have to order it while something of equal quality is available in the store around the corner and for a beginner a more basic set with ~10 basic colours is better than such a specific one)
For the brushes you want something similar to this https://www.amazon.com/Detailing-Watercolor-Miniature-Ergonomic-Precision/dp/B004HHIO50/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=army+painter+brushes&qid=1550092128&s=gateway&sr=8-10
in addition to the one you linked because you need more straight/fine detail ones and some larger one depending on the techniques used (dry brushing for example)

The only thing that I really recommend is to use a caned spray primer as colours won't stick very well to the pure plastic surface and you already have a basecoat if you use a coloured one. But it need to be a Primer and not a spray colour. I prefer Army Painter but mostly because of the colours available
Another thin would be Washes which are kind of thinner colours that add a translucent layer to the model or are used for blacklining
https://www.amazon.com/Army-Painter-Warpaints-Quickshade-Wash/dp/B0714QL55V/
(I also prefer Army Painter over Vallejo here, but the link is more for the example pictures)

For a beginner, a coloured Primer and a Wash can already give good (and fast) results on models like Stormtroopers

I recently started using shellac (in order to do finishing indoors) and picked up these brushes:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J8HCPAY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm really very pleased with them. I read an article that relates gold taklon is an ideal material for applying shellac. The size is great, the shape of the brush head is perfect (flat), the price is right, and it comes with a spare. I don't bother to rinse my brush, I just make sure the bristles are aligned correctly and let it dry. Then when I need to use it again I just let it sit in shellac for 5 mins and it softens right up.
Hi - kind of depends on what you are going to paint. In my experience I've needed a LOT more brushes than I thought I would, so tend to go for lots of cheaper sets - something like this as a basic set but then buying different sized sets with just round, filbert, flat, angled types of brushes. I would recommend getting some BIG brushes, and I've had teachers recommend the type of paintbrushes you can get at hardware/DIY stores etc.
A paint set is also good but the alternative is to look into limited pallettes - for example if you are doing portraits you might find it helpful just to buy the zorn pallette, but for landscapes etc you will need more varied colours. If you buy a set I've found it usual to buy another larger tube of white (either the same type of white in the set or a different one) as you will probably use a lot of white. I wouldn't buy the cheapest paint sets, Windsor and Newton is good.
Reaper has good paints too. Miniaturemarket carries them.
I'm a novice painter, been painting off and on for a few years. Some lessons learned -
I need to learn to finish painting projects (and the paint on the table cover is from when my daughter woke up in the middle of the night to try out daddy's special paints)
Thanks for the input! It is greatly appreciated. I found a Black and Velvet brush set on amazon for $45. Link. Do you think this would be a good mid range set? They look like beautiful brushes.
Also, let me know if you have any recommendations for technique books or anything.
Hi! It so pleasant to get good customer service! :)

I have these water color brush pens on my Under $10 WL: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0794ZVWGR/?coliid=I1029WAZMJ4VF8&colid=2G1ELUBOVBW9F&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it. I have been an oil painter for some time, and I also dabble in acrylics, so I really want to give water color a shot. The brushes I have don't work very well when ive tried to do it. I have heard these brushes are much easier to work with. It will also give me another art medium to do with my daughter. Sher's truly an artist, and it's wonderful spending time creating art with her.
I recommend Royal Soft Grip brushes, you can get them at Michael's for about $2 a pop, they work great in any medium and are super cheap to replace, great for a beginner.
These pumps could be fun to play with, while she's restrained. They can be placed over the nipples or clit, or both. They come in a three pack. Lube the inside of the tube and the flesh. Then turn the screw a bit every few minutes. Over the time, the suction will engorge the clit of nipple, enlarging it and making it super-sensitive. No pain if you do it right, and she gives you feedback as you turn the screw.
I got a set of sable hair artist brushes for some holiday fun. They'd be great for a restrained situation. It's a tickle tease kind of thing. The sable hair is extra soft, and can be used even inside of her folds. Here's a NSFW gif of how it works, although the smaller size of the artists brush makes it a lot more fun.
And come on. Spin her over and spank dat ass!!!!........ If she's into it.
Any brush brand that's affordable and recommended for hand painting? I got a set of taklon brushes from my hobby shop (0, 3/0, 5/0, and 10/0 if that means anything to anyone), but they don't have anything bigger than tiny detail brushes, and if I'm going to paint, I'm going to want something like a flat brush for bigger pieces. Would a cheap-ass set like this be acceptable, or should I shell out some more for proper brushes?
I have two sets of watercolor brushes:
Home use:
Tom Jones Signature Watercolor Deluxe Brush Set

These hold a lot of water and are also great at lifting excess water. When I first got the set, they shed too much, but have really held up afterwards.
Urban sketching/travel brushes:
The Escoda set of 6

In reality, I could've done the set of 3, but some vendor was selling the set of 6 for less than the price of 3, so I snapped 'em up. Really nice quality rounds. They are perfect for smaller pieces and hold a ton of water. The only drawback is that they're all rounds.
