Activity: Playing LEGO Harry Potter

Movie: Almost Heroes

Book: Harry Potter series

Comic book: I don't read them. :O

My name's Nichole, I'm 24 and I spend most of my time crafting and playing video games! The LEGO games are amazing. I love painting and crocheting. Aaand I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

I would love this and this if I win. Thank you for the contest!

Primary Items:

7-pack of 11x14" Canvases: $17.98

1 qt Floetrol: $6.97

Silicone oil: $14.99

Liquitex High Gloss Varnish: $13.32

Acrylic Paints: ~$1 each (I bought 4)

Popsicle sticks: ~5.00

TOTAL COST: $62.26

It's a tad pricy up front (I got most of this for my birthday), but several of these things will last me many pours. The canvases (obviously), the floetrol, the silicone oil, and the popsicle sticks will last for quite some time. It's possible the varnish will as well - I'm not sure yet, I haven't varnished my first canvas yet. Really the paint seems to be the thing that will run out the fastest unless you buy large sizes. I did cheap paint for my first pour, just to get kind of an idea, but I really liked how it turned out so I'm not inclined to buy anything more expensive for now. There are some other things that I had on hand an don’t have prices. Items like gloves, plastic cups, a butane torch, and the garbage bag I put under it.

Just to give another option besides the Tombows, I use a combination of the Huhuhue Double Ended and the Huhuhue Fine Tips.

With a decent notebook (ie. not a composition book) I get minimal bleeding and the pens are super affordable.

I don't know if you have a case for pens, but I recently bought this one and I'm super happy with it.

u/darthoptimus · 1 pointr/RandomKindness

Whoa, that one is super expensive. They have it here on Amazon for 35, available for free shipping too if you use Prime. I don't see why I can't do more than 1 as long as you aren't hard pressed for a super quick turn around time. So far I've only gotten 1 PM so yeah the offer is totally still up :)

u/MCubb · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Ooo nice feeder! I've got these canvases that would be super fun to use!

Quite Interesting

It depends on what your child prefers. My daughter (3) likes to work with her hands more than she enjoys imaginative play, so her xmas list has things like Playdough, play foam, laces toy, puzzles, drawing things or accessories like stamps and stickers, etc.

She's not really into plush toys, dolls, or cars - anything that isn't something she can actually DO.

u/glanmiregirl · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

You aren't annoying me at all! Acrylic doesn't work the best on paper, but if you use mixed media paper or even better canvas paper it would be best. I found this - I can't tell if it's preprimed, but an extra coat of gesso wouldn't hurt.

u/allsevenpizzas · 7 pointsr/fountainpens

The nearest arts & crafts store (hobby lobby). But to be honest, the quality isn't the best, and the price was definitely marked up. But it's got a blue/brown exterior that I love, so :/

UPDATE: I found it right here if you're interested https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K3C9JE2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_lpSwyb5ET715X

u/ARiceGirl · 2 pointsr/Art

Hey! Your comment made me go look around again and I found these https://www.amazon.ca/Tosnail-Mini-Canvas-Panels-Set/dp/B06XKVLTZW/ref=sr_1_6?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1499887564&sr=1-6 as 3x3 inches, not 2x2 but I work with these as well. I'm gonna order and see how they are! :D Thanks again for the reminder lol

u/ZombieButch · 1 pointr/learnart

Try to get a better surface to practice on than whatever it is you're using there. You can pick up packs of canvas panels for less than a dollar per panel that are good work surfaces for practicing on.

Still Life Painting Atelier is a really good "I've never oil painted before, where do I start?" book. But you'd be well served to take some time and sharpen up your drawing skills with just pencil and paper; there's a lot of resources for beginners over in the starter pack thread.

u/brunofocz · 3 pointsr/SakuraGakuin

next available size is 60x80, and a friend told me that smaller images tend to go down after a bit;

I found some japan-B2 sized frames on amazon.com coming from japan; the guy in this review says:

"This is a very simple aluminum frame that fits Japanese B2-sized posters. The price point is pretty reasonable, though the original product is much cheaper if purchased in Japan. Buyers should keep in mind that Japanese B2 posters (515x728mm) are not the same dimensions as non-Japanese B2 posters (500×707mm)"

No european sellers though

For now the only solution is to order from Leroy-Merlin a custom sized frame

EDIT: I found also this good-priced frames on Rakuten global

EDIT2: this on amazon,co.jp could be more convenient via Tenso

It would just look like art on the wall. Canvas is usually stretched over a wooden frame so the back is hollowed out. Leaves space for something on the wall to fit in behind the canvas. I used one to cover an old phone jack in my last apartment. This link has picture of the back of a canvas to explain it better https://www.amazon.com/CONDA-Artist-Stretched-Canvas-Pack/dp/B01IBRF25G/ref=lp_12896211_1_12?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1542400355&sr=1-12

Ironically it was a leftover from a megaman one that I did. I got a 10 pack of them from amazon it was like $20 or so

Edit: it was $30 for the set of 10 but it looks like they sell singles as well, Here is a link to it

u/beatthebrush · 2 pointsr/HappyTrees

for some reason i cannot see your comment for the link, but what i found was a 6pack of 16x20 arteza for $23; that's $3.83 each... on super sale.

My goto canvas is this 20-pack from practica which you can get right now for $57; that's just $2.85.

u/WoodStainedGlass · 3 pointsr/MMA

I've got a great solution for you. Go to a fabric store and ask for Cotton Duck

It's essentially low to mid grade raw canvas, but way cheaper than at an art store.

You can even find it on amazon http://www.amazon.com/ounce-unprimed-natural-cotton-Length/dp/B000E7P7BG/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1408039072&sr=8-7&keywords=roll+cotton+duck+canvas

If you're doing acrylic then really any surface will do. I started working on wood with acrylics because it was cheaper and more durable than canvas.

Shit you can gesso a nice piece of cardboad and come away with good results.

Printed then cutout the letters and taped them to cardstock. I would recommend using a canvas panel like this.

u/Zeppelin503 · 1 pointr/amazon

Big set of 48 acrylics-$36
Royal Brushes-$6
*6 Mini canvases 2x2-$12

A little over, if you only have $50 you could opt for the smaller set of acrylics
In my opinion the extra 12 colors is worth the $4 (:

u/BearBong · 1 pointr/stencils

Thank you! It's an 11x14" stretched canvas, like these. Most any art shop will carry them

u/georockgeek · 2 pointsr/CrossStitch

You can do it yourself (even cut mat board yourself if you want another tool). I somehow haven't put together an album of how I finish and frame my pieces, I guess that might be something I want to think about doing.

You can use any frame really, but if the glass, matboard and cross stitch don't fit in with the original way they fit use off set canvas clips.

u/drjonas2 · 3 pointsr/beadsprites

that's about right... bought these canvases
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015QWZL0/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
then bought all the necessary colors here:
http://www.eksuccessbrands.com/perlerbeads/Products/1000_Beads__See_All_Colors_041500P.htm
I've done other projects so had a lot of the colors already, so don't know the exact $$ but as I said, you're about right in the $30-$40 ballpark

oh and fiance already had the paints...
