Hey there so this is my room! My main goal currently is not for any frames/things to hang on the wall but focusing on the bed that is to be coming!

Currently have ordered this Zinus Bedframe Zinus Suzanne Metal and Wood Platform Bed with Headboard / Box Spring Optional / Wood Slat Support, Queen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075FGY7G2/ ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_mf3pDb7AB4RSK
and Zinus boxspring for some height Zinus Armita 5 Inch Low Profile Smart Box Spring / Mattress Foundation / Strong Steel Structure / Easy Assembly Required, Queen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AS4W8WU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ng3pDbB66B6PQ
Still searching for mattresses, currently like a beauty rest from Macy’s and yes I know about tufts&needle and all those other brands. I have to lay on them myself, prefer spring over memory foam... I sleep firm and will continue to.
What I would like help is on bedding, I’m looking for good comfortable sheets and a thin/quilt for the top. I saw linen but due to paying out of pocket for school I can’t pay $300+ for sheets
I live in Southern California where’s it’s 100+ and gonna be hot for quite some time.
Thanks for the read and appreciate the help!
For a foam or hybrid mattress I would get something with 3” or less between the slats. If the slats aren’t 3” or less lot of online mattress companies won’t honor their return policy. I have this one and it works great. I slid my hybrid onto the ground and it felt no different than it does on this base. The Zinus base you linked to should be very solid.

You absolutely do not need the Casper foundation specifically for the Casper mattress, the foundations are all pretty similar. These look marked up a lot, even compared to traditional retail.
I don't recommend the Zinus mattresses, but their foundations / frames / storage frames are pretty good & inexpensive, and I've heard good nothing but things about them:
https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-SmartBase-Foundation-Replacement-Noise-Free/dp/B006MIUM20/
https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-Platform-Mattress-Foundation-Headboard/dp/B01B8GQAOO/
https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-Standing-Mattress-Foundation-Platform/dp/B07D7J77VL/
Check Casper's latest terms to see what restrictions (if any) they have on the mattress return policy (visible damage and not using a foundation typically invalidates the warranty / return policy of a few bed in a box offerings). They might specify slats or something like that.
The foundation you choose will affect the feel of the mattress to some extent, but not a lot. The main thing you can do with the foundation to make the whole experience a bit firmer (if you end up wanting that) is to build or buy a bunkie board (which is basically just a sheet of plywood between the mattress and the foundation).
And if it's not obvious, huge gaps in the slats are going to cause some wear and tear on the mattress. For example, a 4"-6" gap is fine (12" is not).
That sounds like a good plan to me. I ended up going with the medium firmness.
I already own a box spring (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071Z269FW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Mi3EAb1PNG82M in particular)
I hope it's adequate for the mattress I'll be getting and won't need to be replaced as well!
Same thing happened to me. Bought one of these collapsible box springs.

Sure thing! We've loved the Zinus Memory Foam mattresses, both Green Tea and not Green Tea:

Could just be different parts of the country. Most are fine with a box like you mentioned or a bed frame with slats. You have quite a few options. I will give a warning "measure". With the thick mattresses make sure if you use a frame and some box that it's not too tall. Zenius had some nice looking things. Zinus Justina Quick Snap Standing Mattress Foundation / Platform Bed / No Box Spring Needed / Grey, Queen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BQ8ZJV6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_wPf6Cb51CEEB6 just an example. Something like that is the frame and box. There's metal frames about $70 and there's bunkie boards you would put in your existing frame.
Thanks for your reply. I guess what I am getting at is if there is a difference between wooden slats which are typically found in platform beds and metal frames which are found in foundations? (assuming the slats are up to standard)
Here's an example:
I could do a platform with wooden slats: https://www.zinus.com/collections/platform-beds/products/marissa-deluxe-wooden-platform-bed-frame-antique-espresso
A metal frame foundation: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VMHONDU/ref=psdc_3733071_t2_B07C9C5YYN
Or even a wooden slat foundation: https://ironwoodbedframesandmattress.com/home/upholstered-kd-foundation-with-legs/knock-down-slatted-foundation-with-legs/
I appreciate your input. Complete novice here..
Just bought this and this after two different friends recommended it. Maybe you could fit it into your budget? We actually had the same plan (wait until we buy a house in two years) but life is too short to sleep in an uncomfortable/too small bed.
I have the same issue at my house and the following would be something to consider for $100 delivered to your door. I have two of them and you have to assemble them, it’s pretty simple and takes 30ish minutes to with an impact.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01AS4W8WU?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title
https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-Mattress-Foundation-Structure-Assembly/dp/B07145S3NH/ref=sr_1_18?keywords=zinus+bed+frame+super+low&qid=1565404656&s=gateway&sr=8-18
looks like this one
If you don't have a box spring, you can also buy a padded board that slides under the mattress. I looked them up and they are called "bunkie boards" and are made for beds that don't use box springs (e.g. bunk beds). They provide more support than a mattress alone.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NPVCPRM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is what I got, had the same issue.
Have you considered Amazon?
this is what I am referencing.
I bought a boxspring replacement (like http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Dream-Steel-Spring-Replacement/dp/B00BIIQWAU ) to give my bun more space under my bed.
Zinus Justina Quick Snap Standing Mattress Foundation / Platform Bed / No Box Spring Needed / Grey, King https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C9C5YYN/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_CxjTDb5CT0494

If that is the one you ordered, then good luck, you will need it. I see that 16% of the reviewers give it only 1- or 2-stars, and most of those cite problems with poor wood quality (cracked, broken, warped) or with the staples and nails holding it together having come out. See this for example:
http://imgur.com/a/dZpii
But maybe you will get lucky and receive one without cracked wood or broken parts. If so, I bet you that the space between the slats will be more than 3 inches (ignore the morons on amazon who responded to questions about the slat spacing -- their answers range from 1 inch to 6 inches). My guess is it will be about 4-inch spacing with slats a little less than 2.5-inch wide (probably 13 or 14 "slats" total, counting the boards at the head and foot of the frame...you generally want to see 16 or more slats to get the spacing below 3-inch).
You could probably add some slats if you can do some basic woodworking (cutting boards, drilling pilot holes, inserting wood screws). Home Depot or Lowes have 8-ft long 1x3 furring strip boards (actual width is about 2.375-in) for a couple bucks. If you do this, be sure to drill pilot holes before screwing into the wood. With this low-quality wood, you risk splitting the wood if you are not careful. Even with pilot holes, if you don't have a counter-sink bit, you could crack the wood when the bottom of the head of the flat-head screw is driven into the surface of the wood. Maybe you can avoid screws and just attach extra slats to the straps with a staple gun, or you could cut small rectangles of wood from the furring strip cutoffs and use wood glue to attach them to the foundation rails so that they make a guide to hold the slats in place.
