Oh Lordy I have a ton...I'll try to categorize them...
Best for Puppies
These are all easy toys that dispense a lot of kibble with very little movement. Perfect for baby puppies or really low-confidence dogs. These can also be upgraded in difficulty later by stuffing them with wet food and freezing, or stuffing with a large, hard to extract treat (like a slice of lunchmeat).
Easy Rollers
These basically just dispense kibble by rolling. Not particularly complex, but good for the dog that prefers to solve puzzles by brute force.
Wobblers
These require a more finessed rolling motion to empty, so they're the next step up from just batting a toy around.
Complex Action Toys
These need movement in more than one direction (or very specific movement) to get kibble out of, which makes them pretty challenging.
Soothing, Low Energy Toys
Along with the stuff n' freeze toys, these are good for dogs on crate rest or who need some extra help relaxing before bed.
My dogs (and cats!) eat all their food out of puzzles so I am constantly on the lookout for new challenges! I'd be happy to provide more details on any of the toys I have, or buy and review any toys people have been wondering about :)
EDIT: btw this Jackson Galaxy Asteroid is my favorite cat puzzle toy. They really need to make one for dogs because it is kinda quirky with its bounciness and super quiet.
I’ve bought my kitten this (I forget how to link on mobile so sorry for the ugly link) and of course it’s the cheapest toy I’ve bought, but he will play with this until he’s panting, go eat, come back and play over and over.
You can also kinda DIY some toys. My older cat (5 years) hates anything and everything I buy for her. I bought a bungee mouse toy you can hang on doors and stuff, and tied a long ribbon through the ring. She will play with that forever. (Also linked)
The one they both agree is with the Yeowww catnip banana. They go absolutely bonkers for it. (Linked)
Some also love little chirpy toys. You can find plenty on strings, or little strong free ones (linked).
Go to town with feathers, bells, and whatnot to figure out what your kitty likes!
Crinkle balls are also a hit with both. They love the sound and it’s their jam. My youngest will play with them for hours. Be careful of which brand you buy of these though, some people have issues with the dye.
If you don’t want’em scratching on anything, try getting a couple scratching posts and place them near where they scratch the walls or whatever else. They also love being up high, so a cat tree is always great! Preferably near windows since most cats enjoy looking outside.

Puzzle bowls are good. Interactive feeders are good too. like this or like this. I would spend some time (as in a couple weeks) constantly reinforcing calm behavior in the house.
One step further than the previous poster. Out of 100 meals... maybe 10 I feed from the bowl. I STRONGLY prefer to feed by hand. And I recommend this as a first step for basically anyone looking to get into training their dog.
They learn that food comes from you, not a bowl. They need to work for the food instead of getting it for free. Builds trust, drive to work with you, increases the bond between handler and dog. Just so many things that are good by hand feeding.
What do I mean by this? Depends on what you want to get out the dog. It could be as simple as having the dog lay down and rewarding for that small handful at a time until food is done. Maybe you take this a step further and working on laying down in a pet bed. If your in a hurry you can do the "find it" game... and toss kibble around the house for him to hunt down.
Of course you can use their normal food for stuff like sit, stay, paw, spin, roll over, etc. all the fun behaviors. In the very beginning of teaching your (first couple years imo) I would have food on your body almost all the time. And just reward for doing stuff you want to see. You get in the car and he lays down? Perfect I want to encourage that behavior in the future so here is a bunch of treats. Being all zoomy in the car? well... no treats for you.
In my experience, the best way to train a cat NOT to do something is to give him or her a more attractive alternative. You need to figure out what it is about scratching the TV that (s)he likes so much, and then give him/her a more appropriate place to do that.
So, some possible things to try:
As far as negative reinforcement (stuff like squirt bottles & loud noises) I save those for only things the cats should be afraid of, like getting outside or jumping on the stove. I don't use them often because I feel like they can make cats fearful or can hurt their trust in you.
Good luck!!
Holy smokes, Batman! Yay :3 (Not sure if that last is part of the raffle phrase, but better safe than sorry, right?)
Mah kittehs would LOVE these sparkle balls if I win.
Thank you for the contest!
It may just be a matter of finding toys that can keep him engaged. There are toys that are like catnip kickers or static little stuffies, but then there are also some that are battery-operated or plug in (lasers, concealed motion toys, magnetic toys).
My personal preference, especially if I'm not home to supervise are toys that can be active with just the cat's actions alone. This woven straw is one of my cat's favourites because it catches in her claws as she swats it, so as she moves, it follows her motion until it uncatches and flings off, so she'll go chase it.
I've got this cheap little wand that I use to play with her that moves fairly unpredictably and actually got my cat panting because she was so into it.
Another thing I do everyday is spend 15-20 minutes making her chase her meal. I feed wet food during the day and offer a limited amount of kibble at night, so what I do with the kibble is toss it up the stairs or around the house within her sight so she chases each piece to get fed. I do this until she gets so tired that she has to lie down 3 or 4 separate times, and then I let her rest.
After that, I fill some foraging toys with some more kibble so she has something to work for. If your cat is food motivated, this could work well for you too because it keeps them mentally and physically busy. I have a treat ball and a Wobbert (a little more challenging than a regular treat ball) but I find they're quick to solve and not very engaging. Most of the ones I get are dog toys:
Also, I hide kibble pieces all over her furniture and any cat-friendly furniture. In toys, in any nooks and crannies, in places I want her to explode. It's a good reason to get her feeling like she has a bit of a mission and poking around.
toys:
cat dancer
the hot pursuit
cat tunnel
crinkle balls
litter:
my favorites in order are:
Arm and Hammer Seal and Clump
Ever Clean with activated charcoal (clumping)
Tidy Cats clumping
litterbox:
jumbo high-back litterbox
i would avoid covered or anything that makes the kitty feel trapped. no reason not to have tall walls, especially with sloppy kittens. you're also going to want a litter mat so they don't track it everywhere.
food:
kittens. eat. constantly. so keep out dry food 24/7 and feed a little wet food morning and night. this is temporary, don't free-feed dry food when they're an adult. you'll want to transition kitty to scheduled feedings when they're 6-8 months old, and i recommend wet food only at that point as kibble really isn't great.
my kitten has been thriving on premium edge kitten food but purina's kitten offerings look good and are a bit easier to find. with wet food supplementation. if you want, tell me your budget and i can give you some recommendations.
misc:
72" wooden cat condo - (or something like it, you definitely want something 6 ft+ for them to climb)
a tall scratching post - random one i found. tall scratchers are healthy for your cat, they have vertical muscles that need to be exercised.
cardboard scratchers - i like this one as it lasts a long time and you can flip it over for a new side.
not sure about flea meds as my cats are indoors. your vet will know what is effective in your region (some flea meds are completely useless in certain states). i would keep your cat indoors though.
My cat LOVES balls, balls, and more balls... I’ve bought all kinds of toys in the 3 1/2 years I’ve had her, and nothing compares to THESE balls...

I know it’s a lot ( which I sometimes regret as I’m cleaning I tend to find ATLEAST 10 in each room) but she loves them! She like to play “throw this damn ball human or else..” my favorite is when I wake up to her cuddling the ball on the bed because she expects me to throw it while I’m asleep haha.
I'm going to guess you got a two-year-old kitty named Papercut.
This is my heart and soul, Sriracha. She's a 2-year-old rare orange tabby female, a runt and a cuddle monster. She loves her pit bull Hank. Here's a whole album of them cuddling. We found her in a storm gutter with her brothers (all the others were adopted out) http://imgur.com/a/PZmn1 Hank was also a rescue!
Sriracha has a ton of energy. I'd love to give her these to play with!

Here are some of my cats favorite toys and furniture. He also loves wiffle golf balls and laser pointers. His bed is actually an old Serta neck support pillow we don't use anymore. A good scratching post built into a tree is also a good choice for his room. Hope this helps!

Edited to add two more links
I bought about 6 kinds of food dispensing toys for my puppy. The ones that I found to work the best were the twist and treat and the Squirrel Dude. My pup only really likes things that he can roll around to get food out of. He will ignore a kong or likewise that he has to stick his tongue in to get the treat. Though, he does like his kong with the kong brand puppy treat sticks that are made for it. So, go figure. Every pup is different though, so you have lots of options!!
So there's this it's a little over but I thought it was cool, and it's a prime item!! :D
I've never had a cat though so maybe it's not at cool as I think... Anyway thanks for the contest lovely.
Edit Just read about the US wishlists, sorry! Still get this for your kitty!!!!
I sometimes get the the packs from the craft store (but have to take out the little ones because they eat them) but I found a good set on amazon that mine love. He likes to play fetch. And when he loses it, walks around crying until I find the specific color he wants. Nevermind the other dozen in the toy box.
fuzzy cat toy balls
Cheer up, buttercup! :)
How about some butts?
Holy fucking shit this is a container of FIFTY cat lattice jiggle balls. How awesome is that? 5-0 of them.
Can you imagine the ridiculousness I could unleash during Ferret Fun with fifty of Dexter's favorite toys? It would be absolute ferret pandemonium. Balls everywhere. Complete confusion as to which one to chase.
I’m so sorry for your loss. This is sweet of you.
My Ellie would love any treats on my list or this toy ball she is crazy for. Thanks.💜
A bored kitty is a destructive kitty! Figuring out her preferred type of toys (tracks, balls, crinkle, wands, etc) can take a little time, but giving her lots of toys and scratching targets can make a big difference keeping her from destroying your things instead.
Teach her what "no" means, just a stern voice and then redirecting to something good (such as, when she scratches the couch, say no, then put her on the scratching post and praise her there) makes life a lot easier later. "Get down" can be helpful, too, but some cats ignore that one even when they know what it means (looking at you, my fluffy girl!)
Hands are not toys. If she tries to bite or claw your hands, say no, remove them from reach, and replace with a toy. If she, like one of mine, thinks this means hands are an EXTENSION of toys, then you have to say no, remove hands, and walk away or otherwise remove attention. Then give kitty a toy from a distance.
Here are some of my favorite toy options, none are too expensive and they cover some variety so you can learn what kind she likes:
Also a slightly more expensive one, but the Ripple Rug is hugely popular with all my kitties, they like to burrow in and attack stuff, I can hide toys in there, they pop out the holes and attack each other or wand toys.
I quite like the little airplanes you can get for bicycle handles https://www.amazon.com/Schylling-BA-Bike-Airplane/dp/B000OD5T7M

cat toys are an easy win. Get one with catnip or that crinkles (like these https://www.amazon.com/Petsvv-Mylar-Crinkle-Balls-Kitten/dp/B07HGSP3XV/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1543417337&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=cat+crinkle+ball&psc=1) and they'll be a hit
Early in the morning and late at night, I gate my dog off in a bedroom and play with my cat throughout the rest of the house for 10-15 minutes. The cat prefers interactive toys/play, anyway. Neko Flies toys are probably his favorite. We also play fetch with little soccer balls. Then I put the cat toys away. Try doing something like that. As others have said, you can't expect the dog (or the cat, for that matter) to understand the difference between dog toys and cat toys.
Yeowww! brand catnip toys are the best!
Like these: Yeowww My Cats Balls, 3 Balls per Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004P65LOA/
My bengal loves all toys but these balls are his absolute favorite.
