I have Atlantic Technology speakers. I love them.

http://www.atlantictechnology.com/products/wall-ceiling-speakers/

https://www.amazon.com/Atlantic-Technology-IC-6HT-S-6-5-Inch-Ceiling/dp/B00LIS4KJU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1469471573&sr=8-4&keywords=atlantic+technology+in+ceiling

From what I hear, they have close-outs on sale right now that are identical to their current models (not sure which specific ones), but without magnetic speaker covers. Well worth the price if you ask me. Talk to a dealer to learn more...

If you are in the SF bay area, I can give you a number. PM me for more info.

For indoors, the 791 sounds really nice.

For outdoors, if you want reliability, get a marine speaker designed to be installed in a boat. Something like the 131.

Or, if you're a JBL fan, there's the 6IC and the MS6520

I am using the Speakercraft Aim7Two for my theater. Yes, it is a compromise, but honestly it sounds fine to me. The Woffer and Tweeter pivot toward the listening area.

I would just do 5.1. You are not going to be able to discern directionality enough to do a 7.1 system. However, I would say that most importantly you should not put the speakers directly overhead AND use speakers that can be pivoted/aimed, such as these:

https://www.amazon.com/SpeakerCraft-AIM8-AIMABLE-INCEILING-SPEAKER/dp/B000U7NGCW/ref=pd_sim_23_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=BSSA34Q4DRWN86FBFKGE

I don't have any experience with that specific speaker but the idea is that you want the sound coming from a direction, just like with floorstanding speakers. If they are all overhead and pointing straight down you will not be able to distinguish any of the directionality or "space" intended by the person who mixed the sound for the movie you are watching.

Klipsch is good for high quality, and they make a lot of in-ceiling models, but their cheapest is $120 each.

When talking about cheaper versions, do you want any of the speakers to be angled? Or do you just want normal ones that fire straight down? Meaning, if you want under the speakers to be where you listen to them, or is the listening area off to the side?

For straight down firing, these Micca's ($40/each) are good. Now, if you want any/all of them to be angled, I wouldn't suggest mixing brands (at most, same brand in same room/area), there are the Silver Ticket models which are down firing ($32/each) & angled ($60/each).

This looks promising. You can bridge the left and right outputs into one zone.

edit: Perfect for your speakers...

I'm looking for just simple system for small business. I can't use those ceiling speaker like these https://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PIC8E-High-End-Ceiling-Adjustable/dp/B003NVQUM0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487472114&sr=8-1&keywords=business+ceiling+speaker

I just need to play some radios and be able to put 2 speakers like 60ft apart

https://www.amazon.com/BIC-America-HT8W-Acoustech-Speakers/dp/B000B7NAP4

I have had good luck with BIC America. Just put in a pair of 10 inch three-way ceiling speakers for my rear surrounds. Not quite as good as my KEF LS50s ;-)

Not Monoprice but I just installed these in a new build and sound amazing. Tied into Sonos Amp. Yamaha NS-IW280CWH 6.5" 3-Way In-Ceiling Speaker System (White, Pair) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000O3TFZO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_VT5MDbCQR86XQ

I used two of these for my rears to really just protect the speakers. We sealed them with a sealer to help keep them in place and stabled them down so they wouldn't move.

Found these when googling.

this is actually fairly easy to do. reaper is 60$, these are 75$, this is 16, this type of midi controller is 55$, and you will need a laptop,

in reaper setup 5 channels, assign each cahnnel to a dedicated out using the soundcard i provided. setup SAMPLOMATIC5000 (reaper vst) with allthe sounds and have them set to midi triggers that you then trigger from the midi controller i provided. setup speakers anywhere in the room you would wish to have them.

now I gave you the BASIC setup, but all this can bedone with a keyboard through reaper, and even an SPDIF(optical) out in reaper if you do a little digging. This is NOT difficult and I commend you for wanting to provide an elevated gaming experience and I know you can do this if you just put your thoughts into action. you got this!

Lets see a pic - maybe you could put in an in wall center speaker under TV.?

https://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-265RT-3-way-Speaker/dp/B004L9GWSK/

or

R /C /L in wall........

https://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Vanishing-Speaker-1-255CRT/dp/B00TOOKMZQ

Or Even Better - put in all in walls for R /C/ L and Surrounds and get 9.2 Atmos receiver and make 4 ceiling speakers you Atmos speakers..........

What you're describing is a 70v speaker system. Basically you can buy ceiling speakers with a built-in transformer that allows you to run all of the speakers from a single daisy chained wire instead of having to run an individual cable to each speaker back to the receiver. Every speaker plays the same content and it's much easier to wire it all together.

82W Silver Ticket In-Wall Speaker with Pivoting Tweeter (8 Inch in-wall) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LGYP0HM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_nhICzbHG9QQ31

Went with 3 of the angled 5.25 in the ceiling, and 2 of the 8inch in wall for the 2 fronts, and 2 6" in ceilings for my surrounds.

It's for employees, would I need amps for these?

https://www.amazon.com/PDIC61RD-2-Way-Ceiling-Speaker-System/dp/B014V4CVA2

Also is there a good head unit that does streaming that will connect to these?

u/owlicks58 · 0 pointsr/apple

Maybe you need to rethink things. Like I said, this is contingent on you already owning a decent receiver with your living room/home theater stereo. Nearly any component system is going to blow that Harmon Kardon setup out of the water. We're talking about six 1.5" speakers powered by a 2x15w peak amplifier and a 4.5" woofer powered by a 30w peak amplifier.

Something like these would make a night and day difference for about 1/3 the price of the Harmon Kardon setup. That leaves you plenty of money for quality wiring and an Airport Express.

Hell, even if you don't have an amplifier you can pick up this and still save money!

My Recently completed basement. Mostly used as a home theater for my wife and I but also for occasional parties. Equipment list is below. Due to budget constraints, I had to re-use a lot of my old equipment, but I did purchase the projector, screen, mount, and ceiling speakers. Next upgrade is a new subwoofer, but that probably will not happen for a while. I have a set of bose surrounds that I plan to use as rears eventually, and to switch the in-ceiling over to be Atmos speakers. Sorry for the not great pics, I'm not that great with cameras. I know everyone hates Bose, but considering they were free from my parents a few years ago, they sound pretty decent.

I was looking at the commercial streaming service Pandora offers and was prepared to pay the $25/mo to avoid any legal issues.

I was looking at these as an option for speakers.
  https://www.amazon.com/Acoustic-Audio-Ceiling-Speaker-Theater/dp/B00EAU9DPO/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=drop+ceiling+speakers&qid=1567627474&s=gateway&sr=8-1

I can run speaker wire back to a receiver in the back room. I just need to find a receiver that can either connect to a streaming service itself, or an additional box like that moodmedia to feed streaming audio to the receiver.

u/microjupiter · 1 pointr/hometheater

I’d like to add 2 Atmos speakers to my setup, and it looks like maybe Pendant’s are the way to go, but I can’t find much info on good/bad ones. I’m also unsure how important or much I need to spend for ceiling speakers.

Looking at these since they have more reviews than anything else. But also open to any other options I have.

  1. Upon doing some more research, I've seen that some people just use these: https://www.amazon.com/OEM-Systems-ISF-147-Ceiling-Protective/dp/B000PELN0C/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

    Any thoughts?

  2. Hmm, in that case, I might just decide to forgo volume control and use the receiver's remote or phone app for that.

Do you have attic space above your office? If so, consider running [speaker wire](http://www.NavePoint.com/ 250ft in Wall Audio Speaker Cable Wire CL2 14/2 AWG Gauge 2 Conductor Bulk White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ETLP48I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ATSWDb281J47W) through the ceiling and installing flush mount [ceiling speakers](http://www.Micca.com/ M-6C 6.5 Inch 2-Way in-Ceiling in-Wall Speaker with Pivoting 1" Silk Dome Tweeter (Each, White) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0047PPR2A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_lUSWDbRQSQPYT). The speaker wire can connect to a wall amp [like this](http://www.Pyle.com/ Bluetooth Receiver Wall Mount | In-Wall Audio Control Receiver with Built-in Amplifier | USB, Microphone, Aux (3.5mm) Input | Speaker Terminal Block | Connect 2 Speakers - 100 Watt (PWA15BT) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010U5EGKE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_fSSWDbF0DG0MA) so wires are totally concealed. You would then connect audio via Bluetooth.
