It’s an OXO brand cocktail shaker: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0001YH13E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_ADk2DbFFTRQBA

Reasonable priced and pours very nicely.

u/chalks777 · 4 pointsr/cocktails

amazon has these: Orange boston shaker, swirly orange shaker, more swirly orange.

ninja edit: Oh, didn't realize you said plastic. Here's a mini one.

That one looks to be 60oz; I've seen 110oz ones on the cobbler style shakers.

One of my boston shakers is 30oz tin with a smaller tin, dunno if they make those larger.

Once you get the sticker off and residue off, do yourself a favor and get a Boston Shaker. It'll leak less, and last a lot longer.

That thing on the dash? I think that's one of those shakers they have at pizza restaurants for cheese and pepper flakes.

The prices have gone up since then, they're all $10 now. But I was referring to these: https://smile.amazon.com/MIXT-Energy-Shaker-Bottle-Black/dp/B01MXF8A31/ref=sr_1_2

Boston shaker kit

I haven’t found the individual cups, I think it’s only a feature in a mixing kit. I found you a kit though.

I used to hate my cobbler shaker. Then I got this one - http://www.amazon.com/OXO-1058018-SteeL-Cocktail-Shaker/dp/B0001YH13E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1374680581&sr=8-2&keywords=oxo+shaker

I've never had any problems getting the parts to separate after shaking - it's super easy to open. However, some of the reviews complain of leaking. That hasn't been true for me.

The inner metal shaker part of this with a some random large polycarbonate pint-size glass that I have. Nothing fancy (I'm not safe to be around with glass in the kitchen), but it works.

u/TheKingOfGhana · 1 pointr/BarBattlestations

Hm I'm not sure tbh. each bottle is probably around 20 or 30 bucks. The ar set was 40 here's the one I got.

I tend to buy one bottle per paycheck and go to vintage and thrift stores for all the glassware.

You need one of these. Water, flour, shake it up, pour in slowly while whisking. No lumps. It's possible, I suppose, that professional chefs might be able to add dry flour to gravy without it clumping up, but I've never heard of that working.

OXO makes a really nice and reasonably priced cobbler style shaker that has double wall insulation similar to Yeti cups. During the summer/spring/fall I use my tins, but in winter I use my OXO. Its only downfall is that only the cup part is insulated.... the center part is not. The top cap (and jigger) however has their typical soft rubber coating. So, with minimal practice you can hold the shaker by the cup and the cap and avoid all contact with the cold part.

I bought mine at target, but this is the one:

You broke a Boston? After three years? Go you! If you go through shakers that quickly, I highly recommend either of these.
