I actually just finished setting up a similar setup for my high school's football team.

From the info you have given me, I would recommend the following.

Camera: Canon Vixia HF G20 - I personally have a lean toward canon cameras. Regardless of that, it is a great camera with great low light capabilities, dual SD card slots for longer record times, 32GB of built in memory, full hd recording, AC wall power adapter for longer record times, and more.

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/909792-REG/Canon_8063b002_32GB_VIXIA_HF_G20.html

SD Cards: San Disk Extreme 64GB or 128GB - Great cards with good speeds and since the g20 has dual sd card slots, using two would then double your record time. With a 64gb card, we usually get 8+ hrs on a single card. If you go for 128, or dual card, you will get more record time. If you are going to need to be able to shoot for a long time and then shoot again the very next day and do not want to have to off-load the cards, it would be easier just to get a few more cards.

If you get a lot of SD cards, I find it useful to have one of these to protect your sd cards.
https://www.amazon.com/Pelican-Black-Memory-Protective-Replaces/dp/B005D2JE2A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474933767&sr=8-1&keywords=pelican+sd+card+case

I would certainly hope that you have a dedicated computer for your uploading tasks.

If your computer does not already have an SD card reader, that would be a good thing.

https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-SuperSpeed-Windows-Certain-Android/dp/B00OJ5WBUE/ref=zg_bs_516872_1

You did not really specify how often you would be doing shoots and for how long you would want to store the data for. In terms of short term storage, you could just use the hard drive on your computer if it is big enough or you could get an external drive, large enough for the last few (~3-5) shoots before you transfer it to longer term storage or delete the footage. Within this you have two options, hard drives or SSDs. The difference being transfer speeds and cost, SSDs are faster and more expensive. Here are two options.

https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Expansion-Portable-External-STEA1000400/dp/B00TKFEEAS/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1474934311&sr=1-2&keywords=1tb+hard+drive

In addition to all this gear, I would recommend uploading to youtube because it has a much better uploader and I think the user interface is a trade-off that is worth it. Especially since you will be uploading a lot of footage.

More detail about what you want would also help in giving advice.

You can email me (jcdprofilms@gmail.com) or PM me if you would like to discuss this more.

Congrats on the job!

[Tiffen Variable ND filter] (http://amzn.to/2mw8AY7) is a necessity to me, especially when outside.

This shoulder rig is really an impressive tool for the price.

Husky Multi-tool is my favorite multi-tool

A good tripod like Davis & Sanford model is probably one of the best purchases I've ever made (it's great as-is, and is even better when you upgrade the fluid head to a Manfrotto Video Head).

Pelican SD Card case not only provides protection, but also helps you keep organized.

Pelican 1510 with Padded Divider Case has been my main camera case for well over a year, and has saved my life on multiple occasions (downpours, falling down stairs, etc). I use the top organizer on it as well quite a bit.

This Apurture light is a great run-n-gun LED light that i prefer over costlier alternatives.

Joby Gorillapod is always in my camera bag for random uses. I use it mainly for a makeshift hair light mount, but I've gone as far as mounting my b-cam on it for timelapses.

Merrell Moab Waterproof Shoes are the best shooting shoes I've ever worn.

This Foldable Cart is incredible for me... I never go to a shoot without it. It folds up and fits in my small jeep along with the rest of my gear without an issue, and it gives me a workbench when deployed on location.

A watch with a compass is very important to me if I'm doing exteriors and have no idea where the sun is at due to cloud cover.

Anyway those are some odds and ends I could think of that I use on a day to day basis.

I prefer to have a few different cards of varying size for different situations and different cameras. They mostly live in my camera bag in a 6-card container (kind of like this but cheaper).

The benefits are that I always have extra storage on hand in a pinch, and it's a good idea to change cards in case of failure.

A drawback is that you need to make sure you're transferring images off of the card to your safe storage location then format the card so it's fresh and you don't accidentally end up with multiple copies of images.

It's a best practice to copy all files to your storage location, then format the card from the camera. This keeps write times nice and fast, and ensures the safest data transfer methods.

  • MicroSD card. Higher class cards will improve performance/boot speed, and class 10 cards aren't that expensive. There was a comparison that was posted a while back and I believe the Samsung EVO 32GB came up as the best (although I might have linked the wrong one). The nice thing about the pi is you can just drop in a different SD card and have a completely new computer, so you might want some way to keep track of them if you wind up with 9 of them like I have (web server, fireplace, steam box, a couple random raspbians, etc).

  • Mini HDMI to HDMI ^(1) ^(2) converter (not absolutely necessary if running headless, but nice to have). Also, if you live near Minneapolis I recommend that place in link 2 there - My Cable Mart - they have suuuper cheap cables and connectors. You can order online too IIRC, but they've got a little shop in a business park in Eden Prairie where you can drop in.

  • Micro USB power cord. Make sure you don't get one that angles over the other USB port. Yes, it matters which cord goes in which hole.

  • If you just got a USB cable for the bullet above, get a USB power supply that you can plug in to the wall. I believe 2A is recommended, but 1A will work.

  • Micro USB to USB converter. These came up on here a while back and I ordered a few. They will take a month or 2 to show up from China, so I'd recommend finding a different solution for now and getting these if you like filling your electronics drawer. An OTG cable will work, or a USB gender bender will work with a micro USB cable on one end and your peripheral on the other.

  • Some type of USB network adapter. Wired ones do exist, and I have the one linked there. Works fine, doesn't require setting up wifi. I know here people usually recommend the edimax wifi dongle (I'm assuming that's the link, my browser won't load that page...).

  • USB hub. You will get better luck out of a powered hub, but I can't recommend a specific one as I don't have one. The power for the peripherals will have to come through your power supply and the pi, so I guess pulling too much through an un-powered hub could kill your pi or just make your peripherals not have power?

Edit: I just want to point out to OP that this may seem like a lot of stuff for a $5 computer, but if it's something that you really get into and you wind up with more than 1 of these things, all of these peripherals can be re-used on the second/third/.../eighteenth one. Well, that assumes you run headless.. For example, my zero is running a script on boot that requires no network or intervention from me, so it's literally a power cord, a zero, and some things plugged into the GPIO (temp sensor, relay). No USB/network/monitor/etc required.

I traveled Europe recently, not as long as you though but when I was there I carried one back pack, in there I had 3 lenses, 35mm 50mm and kit 18-55mm, and my body D5550 with my battery grip , total of 3 batteries, I bought 2 64gb cards specifically for the trip, ended up not even using full of one of the 64gb, and a hard case on amazon to carry my SD Cards, a iPad mini and a iPad SD card reader, and my mefoto tripod, AND last which was really super helpful was a Anker battery pack, which charged my iPad and phone when out and abou, if your an American don't forget to buy an outlet converter, me and friends stayed in hostels and shared the converter!

I have an aluminum DRAGONN SD card case (I think its probably off brand) that I bought for like $15 on Amazon. It's been very durable and pretty small and has slots for 8 SD cards. There's nothing special about it but it works very well for me. It doesn't come open accidentally but also isn't hard to open and it holds the cards securely. I've never gotten it wet so I couldn't tell you about how it does there. There's probably better cases in existence but for the price this does a good job.

Here's the link for the one I have:

I like to take my whole library with me. In physical form, that library now includes Mario Kart 8, Mario Tennis Aces, Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbits Kingdom Battle, Zelda BOTW, and Lego City Undercover (a surprisingly good game). I'll be picking up the new Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu or Eevee to enjoy during holiday travel.

I ordered this to carry games in the tech pouch. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07416MZ2V At just about 7mm thick I think it stays in-line with the need for slimness in packing this thing.

I use a case (or sometimes cases) like this one: http://amzn.to/2ckdfsQ

And then i have a system, so that when the batteries points up, theyre full, and down theyre empty. That way i wont end up with empty batteries in all my pockets :)

For SD cards, it really depens on how many you need and what kind of setup you use.
I like to have them "loose" in a small pocket in the camera bag. Then when full, i store them in a case like this. http://amzn.to/2d6NbDh Mainly for organizing them, but also keeps the card, and more important, the footage safe.

u/Owyn_Merrilin · 2 pointsr/3DS

Thanks. If anyone wants that specific case but doesn't trust the site, it looks like it's a super common pattern that some factory has made a ton of. On basically every page of results on the amazon search I just did, that bag is there, although the number of pages inside of it varies.

Here's an example, pulled up for no other reason than that it was on the page I was currently looking at.

So this is it but it’s currently out of stock! But I use big old memory cards. If you’re using regular SD cards, I found this one and also this one

Hope that helps!

u/supes1 · 1 pointr/chromeos

Yeah from a storage standpoint you have way more flexibility with the Chromebook/Samsung than an iPad. Either would be a better option if you store most of your movies locally.

A TB hard drive would definitely work for the Chromebook. For extra storage on the Samsung, you could also just get several SD cards (they're dirt cheap nowadays) and use something like this and just swap them out as needed.

u/Lowb0rn · 3 pointsr/muacjdiscussion

Maybe you could put some dipbrow/liner in SD card cases like these with a magnetic sticker on the bottom.

I don't know if they're airtight but I'm pretty sure they're watertight as I've dropped one of these in the sink before and the card was completely dry.

u/SickSalamander · 1 pointr/photography

I just picked the 64 GB because they had the cheapest price per GB right now. It would only be marginally more expensive to go with smaller denomination cards though.

Organization of lots of cards is pretty easy. Just number everything and use the cards in order.

For SD cards, I like this case that holds 12 cards.

u/sillycyco · 2 pointsr/BurningMan

> I may glue gun them

FYI, hot glue doesn't stick to the LED strips very well over extended periods of time. Been there, done that. It depends on the tube the leds are in, but if its that smooth silicone, it'll be hard to get lots of softer glues to stick.

Staples or small nails (or pins as you suggested) into the shoe sole combined with an epoxy is probably the best bet.

Hot glue is great at protecting a small arduino though. Just encase the entire thing, it'll be water proof, dust proof and provide some shock protection. You'll never get it off though.

To attach to a shoe you could encase the whole thing in hot glue, and then run a strip of velcro and glop that on with hot glue. Then just run the velcro through the laces on top of the shoe. You could have a piece of fabric glued to the top side to disguise it a bit. Will probably be messy.

There's also these or these which may be able to hold the gemma.

u/provideocreator · 3 pointsr/videography

I also suggest getting a few 64 gb cards. Probably a SanDisk Extreme Pro, they're pretty decent and have fast write speeds for video. Also consider getting a case like this to keep them protected and organized.

u/SolMarch · 2 pointsr/videography

Another memory card (or several) might be a useful. It's never a good thing to stop a shoot because you're out of memory card space.

Don't worry about getting crazy fast cards for the Nikon. Standard class 10 cards are all you need, but you can get a card that's a bit more future-proof for just a few dollars more.

Also, make sure to protect those cards because the raw footage they contain is your paycheck. I use a Pelican hard-shell memory card case. It's water & shock resistant which should do well to keep the cards safe.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I think you'd like This I just went to Universal last month and I ALMOST bought one for myself. I love Harry Potter!

This is nowhere near $30....but I REALLY need it. It's only around $6. Item

u/4ensics · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Yours were blue? Mine were smoked black and had the Zelda BotW logo on them. Anyways, I'm sure you could find some on used/small shop websites (e.g. eBay, Etsy, Mercari, etc.). Or get one of these if you have a large physical collection, they're slim and hold plenty to last you.

Edit: here you go. hold 6 instead of 4 and should fit in that pouch. Didn't take long to find. :)

u/pepperman7 · 5 pointsr/lyftdrivers

My personal recomendations:

Vantru N2 Pro Dual Dashcam - $199 (there are good youtube videos that show you how to conceal the cord quite well, no special tools required.)

SanDisc Ultra 64GB - $16.75 (this is the max size the N2 pro can handle. I suggest getting several of them. They hold 6 hours of footage and will loop over. I swap it out when I'm done driving for the night or if I take a break on a full day.) You will want to get a 256GB SD card which will work with a Firmware upgrade found here. thanks to /u/radiowhatsit for the info.

Water resistant / anti shock memory card case - $7.99 (Nifty little protective case, holds up to 12 SD cards)

~$300 and you get peace of mind from most problems we can encounter.

u/TK656 · 1 pointr/NSCollectors

Acaris 29 game storage case (snip out the stitching and it holds an even 30.) This one is roomy enough to hold the switch in a HD Mumba case. No room for anything else except four extra game holders.

And there is just enough room to hold two six-card flat holders and two four-card flat holders like these:

For a total of 50 game storage in your hand. I have 48 currently and am about to need a new solution though.

These are two that come to mind. They are very basic and thin but certainly get the job done. I have two of the latter ones and they work just fine.

Ah, I didn't look that close at prices, was just seeing what else was out there.
Found another interesting one. 2 piece slim case. Looks like it holds 4 SD, 10 microSD, and 1 each of regular/nano SIM cards, plus a SIM tool.

u/CWoodsKilla · 3 pointsr/gadgets

According to this article, Blockbuster started with 8,000-10,000 titles. If we assume each of those titles take up 4.7GB (capacity of a single-layer DVD) and go with the high end of that range (4.7GB x 10,000 movies), that's 47,000GB or 47TB of data. It's kind of crazy to think that an entire Blockbuster's worth of DVD-quality movies could be carried around in an organizer like this.

u/csc033 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

What case to you keep your switch in? I've seen some cases for SD cards that make them the size of a switch cart so you can put an SD card in any part of a case you would normally store a game cart.

Something like this, though a little different than the one that came with my case. https://www.amazon.com/ANGPO-Nintendo-Ultra-thin-Portable-Holders/dp/B07416MZ2V/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1538003582&sr=8-9&keywords=Switch+SD+card+case

SIM card holder
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HYFE18G/

SD and micro SD holder
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KZF14MM/

They work well enough. The SIM card holder is built better but limited in storage space. But worth it so I don't lose SIM cards this way.

I use Pelican brand cases, they have cutouts for CF or SD cards http://www.amazon.com/Pelican-0940-015-110-Memory-Compact-Flash/dp/B006G5ZVA2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1398660944&sr=8-2&keywords=cf+card+wallet is for CF

If weather proofing is less of an issue, I like these http://www.amazon.com/Think-Tank-Pixel-Pocket-Rocket/dp/B0016XIQ1U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398660944&sr=8-1&keywords=cf+card+wallet they fold out and have about 8 pockets for CF or SD cards.

I wouldn't trust either with micro cards.

u/masamunecyrus · 1 pointr/Games

>And you've got to start carrying around multiple micro sd cards. I eagerly anticipate the day I lose those.

  1. You're not going to lose your MicroSD cards if you keep them in a case, like this.
  2. With the average size of Switch games, I doubt most people are going to be needing more than 128 GB storage over the life of the console, anyway. In fact, assuming that most people will buy physical cartridges for retail games, storage space is then mainly only used for DLC and indie titles on the eShop.
  3. I'm just trying to suggest a way to save money. If you want to pay $150 for a 256 GB, by all means. Nothing's stopping you.
