You can get a 3 year warranty on amazon but I just double checked myself and it seems the warranty is through a third party (square trade).

I briefly looked up square trade and they seem to have great customer service but you will have to pay $20 for a 3 year warranty on a $300 graphics card. That is pretty cheap and OP likely played more then that in shipping (not to mention putting a value on time)

It's appropriate for sure. Newegg is currently the cheapest way to get it. As for warranties, I like to suggest a 3-year Squaretrade Warranty which decays as you use it, but it makes it quite affordable.

As for anti-virus, I always just use AVG Free on all my machines. It's free, it's really, really lightweight, and it's free. Plus it's free.

You can buy longer warranties.. OP maybe try NewEgg or Amazon since there are some states that offer tax free purchases and free shipping. Or wait until another bundle comes out.

These testimonials really give me faith is ST warranties.... Looks like almost every good review is someone who hasn't yet had to utilize the service. I'd never buy a warranty from a place I can't physically go in and talk to someone about the issue.

Have you checked into Square Trade?

https://www.amazon.com/SquareTrade-Consumer-Electronics-Protection-1000-1249-99/dp/B001N82KS8/ref=sr_1_1?fst=as%3Aoff&qid=1556645891&refinements=p_89%3ASquareTrade&rnid=2528832011&s=pc&sr=1-1

Extended coverage is extremely important for Pixelbooks. If you can't add the coverage now, I would encourage you to consider returning it yourself and then re-purchasing it with additional coverage, or do whatever is needed to end up with proper coverage.

I would also strongly encourage you to return it to Amazon - they are just about the worst vendor for Pixelbooks. Your mom should understand.

I found this in a matter of moments, but since it's from Amazon they may not offer the 3 year warranty.

There is a 3 year warranty to pickup for $107 , but not next business day.

To trim the cost down on a smaller screen without a full keyboard look at this, don't get the default

I choose HP probooks since they have been solid machines. Dell is a value brand, more bang for the buck but the quality in some models is lower compared to HP machines. When I moved from HP to Dell, the amount of defectice computers dropped by a ton.

Lenovo is another cheap brand still riding on the days of IBM that used to be awesome....Acer is the bottom of my list...they are the Kia's of PC's

I can search more, just need to know your needs now that I have an idea of your budget.

Good to know now, I wasn't aware other retailers sold AppleCare.

Its an actual product.

SquareTrade 3-Year Protection Plan ($500-599.99) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001N87Y0C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dBP5Ab8MPRMEP

The rules say the item must be new and you have to buy SquareTrade within 30 days. Please read all the terms and conditions before buying.

I found the SmartGuard Protection Terms and Conditions does not really mention anything about computers even though the plan is called "SmartGuard 4-Year Laptop Accidental Protection Plan ($2500-$3000)"

There is also SquareTrade, their Terms and Conditions are a little more techie but still seem vague to me. EDIT: sounds like they do not allow their amazon price for items not purchased on amazon.
