For water changes if your using a python or pumping water through a hose you could take a 5g bucket and fill with ice water and coil some of your hose in the bucket. Kind of like a condenser

You should also look into glass coil condensers, here's a cheap one on Amazon that doesn't cost $150+ just to experiment with initially. I've also seen glycerin coil attachments for bongs before, and I found a site selling them while looking up the lab condensers.

In fact, the illustrator HAD to have known. To my knowledge, there are no glass condensors in existence that have resivoirs that look anything close to a set of testicles.
