We were given one in the hospital (one of the few things we were given, in fact) and I had a few at home. For us, having a bulb or some sort of snot sucker in every main baby room of our house (our room, the living room, the nursery - plus the diaper bag) was really helpful because - so much snot, and you can't always pop up and look for the thing when you need it right now. I can't say enough good things about the NoseFrida (or the Nasakleen for a cheaper option that's just as good, if not better because of the cushy nose part). It's nasty as hell in theory but... my son was sick. A LOT. Once he started daycare. And when your 3 month old cannot breathe... it really doesn't even register how nasty it is to be sucking the snot out of their head. You just do it.

Tip - ALWAYS use Saline spray before you do a maintenance bulb or nosefrida. It's more comfortable for baby and it helps break the stuff up before you go in so you clear more with less effort. Obvs if it's an emergency suction you just go for it, saline be damned, but for general snot clearage the saline is your BFF.
